@ronancassian@_witchpls to each their own. i dont measure attractiveness by race
someone who tries to uplift themselves though using their race to imply inferiority in other people are the real ugly ones
@DepressedPears@_witchpls a lot of Filipinas i heard in America also marry MAGA people, which is absolutely crazy to me. but then again in a society where we have been taught to need the validation of whites it is not shocking
@DepressedPears@_witchpls i truly apologize for their behaviors my friend
some of them carry this internalized hatred for being Filipino, that they think acting like the same racists who hurt us historically is a form of escapism
@DepressedPears@_witchpls so while i think your concerns are very much real, there is still a lot of barriers for some Filipinos to truly understand how these behaviors affect Black people
not to mention the anti-intellect behavior that some Filipinos carry
@DepressedPears@_witchpls and while English is widely taught in PH, a lot of people canβt read with it by the way. so this is a barrier from ever truly learning whatβs going on in the rest of the world
@DepressedPears@_witchpls and our educational system does not bring into light the history of America and how its has oppressed Black people, because we are taught that they are white saviors lol
@DepressedPears@_witchpls at a level of historical awareness, some can be unaware of what the N word means, other than them thinking its equal to βbroβ or a greeting
average Filipino is not knowledgeable at all of what this means historically
@DepressedPears@_witchpls there is no hate towards Black people in the Ph, only that there is a fascination with their skin color because colonizers have taught us that even our own brown skins are ugly
@DepressedPears@_witchpls as someone educated on racism, it was awkward and terrible
average Filipino unaware of those racist connotations just think its funny, and do not hold the same level of maliciousness as a white racist would
