My first Principal put the marigold story from @cultofpedagogy in my mailbox when I started teaching. As the daughter of an avid gardener, I knew about the protection/support marigolds offer other plants. It’s one of my favourite metaphors and @DermanDeb is still my Marigold 🌼

Did you know that marigolds are known as companion plants? They help the plants around them grow! They even have a way of naturally repelling bugs! When gardeners plant marigolds, the flowers around them grow beautifully.

I have done the same! Grabbing all of these books as they’re brought up. 📚 And plan to read them…unlike some of the ppl delegating against them!

If you believe that a child is being sexually abused then you need to report this to Family and Children’s Services.

If you’re just mad that a teacher has a pride flag up in their classroom and reads books with gender diverse characters or families with two dads TAKE A SEAT.

Yes, everyone should learn #CPRandAED. But if we are going to ask people to perform such a brutal task, it’s imperative that we also provide them with the info and resources they need to process it mentally and emotionally. It’s traumatic and life changing.
