If the world had started reducing emissions back in 2000, limiting warming to well-below 2C this century would have us skiing down a bunny slope.
Today we are facing a black diamond, and waiting another decade means going down a cliff.
My greatest climate concern is upcoming #midterm2022 elections. If we lose our Democracy, we won't get it back. W/out climate leadership from U.S. (world's largest historical polluter), global climate action will falter.
Vote like a livable planet depends on it. Because it does.
Climate change is not only a science issue. It's not "just" an environmental issue. It's a health issue, a food issue, a water issue, and an economic issue. It's an issue of hunger and of poverty and of justice. It's a human issue

We need to push back just as strongly on doomerism as we do on denial because they both accomplish exactly the same thing: inaction. As @CFigueres says, “we are only ever as doomed as we believe ourselves to be.”
Thirty years ago, US Democrats & Republicans were on the same page when it came to climate change. Within 15 years, it had become - and remains - the most politically polarized issue in the country. How? The result of deliberate and strategic investment in doubt to delay action.
Not the planet. This ball of rock will be orbiting the sun long after we're gone. It's a threat to us humans, whose entire civilization was built on the assumption of a stable climate, and most of the incredible diversity of other living things who share this planet with us.
Let’s be real: there’s a WHOLE lot of men whose lives, careers, and families have benefited from an abortion (including several “pro-life” GOP Congressmen).
Men, we need you right now. You can get through in rooms others can’t. Your power matters. Speak up. This is about us all.
@a_hillmusic @LosGatosHigh It is so awesome that we can have a pit orchestra composed of students for our school productions. I was so impressed with all aspects of this show!

CO2 emissions are flatting. This is good news, but it does not mean global warming will stop. Rather, it means that warming continues at the same rate rather than accelerating. To stop the world from warming we need zero emissions.
This is the brutal math of climate change.
It's hard for me not to see the doomer-ism that's on the rise these days as anything other than a luxury of the well-off. As @IPCC_CH says, every action matters; and to those already suffering the impacts of climate change, there is always something we can do to help each other.
