This election isn't a referendum on the policies of the Democratic Party or even Joe Biden. It's a referendum on whether or not this nation will continue to govern itself as a republic or not. Voting for the brain worm guy is not the answer here.
Many in the Democratic party seem to believe that others who don’t share their views are dumb and dangerous. They then feel empowered to take away the liberties of others without guilt or even a second thought. They often act out of hysteria and then use DARVO tactics to gaslight and defend their actions. This also creates an environment that allows insider groups to monetize these policies for their own financial gain (why so many of them end up so wealthy). Many of the mainstream media representations you see are directed through this process as well.
@dr_andrealove Can confirm. Signed, person who's lived with HIV for 33 years. Viral suppression is why I'm alive today and not a panel on the AIDS quilt.
It's also worth noting that the global economy was in free fall while the campaign was happening and Bush had screwed up a lot. It was an unusual opening that he skillfully exploited. I'd argue that the Harris coalition was broader ideologically. But less unified.
But remember something - Obama was not an ideological divergent of this. He put together the broadest electoral coalition of anyone in the last 25 years.
@tify330 We don't even really know why we lost yet. Ballots are still being counted and there's polling data yet to come. I'm focused on that, the DNC race + the midterms. 2028 will be here soon enough. Play around with it if it makes you feel better, but it's a guessing game this far out
Different era. 3 networks + CNN. Spin them, you get your message into the political bloodstream. Today, it's like trying to set up 3000 simultaneous IV bags hoping you succeed with 500.
Alina Habba says that all Americans should support Donald Trump: “You’ve got to own when you lose and say: this is America. We have to stand behind President Trump…When Obama won, we stood behind Obama. That's what we used to do.”
This is one of those things that sounds great until you begin to realize that most government spending is defense, Social Security, interest on debt and a bunch of important things like air traffic control and the national weather service.
@KnowaWasTaken Hey, Knowa. I'm a lot older than you and let me tell you that there's always hope. Elections come and go. I know it seems bleak, but it's rarely as bad as it seems. In politics or in life. I know 4 years probably seems like a long time. It isn't. Trust me on this. Take care.
@reesetheone1 They're our voters now. They've got nowhere else to go. But, I do think we might have overemphasized them, but that's a data question. What might have happened is that we traded away more voters than we picked up. Just a theory atm.
@samueljrob She could have promised them everything she wanted and they still wouldn't have supported her *and* she would have been attacked for being insufficiently supportive of Israel. A no-win situation. And, she's an incumbent VP -- means she's saddled w/admin. policy. Bad hand of cards
