@PepsMccrea this thread makes a lot of sense to me and I've bookmarked it, ty :) if you could help me understand - a quiz assesses info, right? and to me, creating a slideshow is the processing of the info you need before the quiz - so they're not the same? what would your thinking be there?
@mrs_chemistry@yesthatteacher I had been using something like this
https://t.co/xMj2xBDbMm which I found from someone on here - Mr. Conklin - and modifying it, keeping it at the top of the stream, so your plan seems like a natural step up.
@DerekSchmidtKS I'm so curious about this - how often does this happen? When? Where? What are the statistics on how often trans men violate women vs how often cis men violate women? How many women have been in danger due to this situation?
@historysandoval@historysandoval Any tips on what to do when kids are absent on playlist day? Or what you have them do if a group gets done way earlier?
Trying something this year in USHistory where I frame each unit around a contemporary issue. This time using @RightQuestion's QFT to figure out why the Civil War is still relevant so we make an informed opinion over the Confederate Statue controversy. https://t.co/emJwWUtsd0
@heymrsbond thank you! it's so disheartening to see people say "build relationships" without giving any tips. I'm an awkward introvert lol, these things don't come naturally to everyone <3
@historysandoval I know this is a billion years old but would you have an example of a civic connected assignment? I'm looking to implement a diy field trip option next year but we're ~20 min away from the big city so not all my kids will be able to complete the field trip.
@JillWebs@glennw98 You have such a knack for providing the exact kind of resource to fill the gaps in my lessons to make them more whole and complete. <3
@MsGreeneEdu You're incredible. Thank you.
A silly question - when you do these w/ your class, do you do them whole class? Or have them work on their own and then debrief at the end? Or something else?
@historysandoval@MsGreeneEdu TY! I had my kids make an on-the-fly annotated map - just drew a basic map w Russia & Ukraine and added some info and symbols as we listened. Also using Snap Map to see what people in Ukraine are posting - the grocery store & bank lines make it v real
@MsGreeneEdu @MrBensonNMS Saw this and immediately adapted it for the breakout of WWII - thank you <3 If you have a second, I'm really curious about whether you give students time in class do to work on their self assessment and whether you give them opportunities to re-do a self-assessment later on.
