Over the past week we took the time to learn about Remembrance Day through stories and our virtual assembly. We will remember and honour those who served and continue to serve our amazing country. The grade 1s wrote thoughtful and heartfelt postcards to send to veterans.๐น
Today @ffca_nwe students and staff will pause and remember those who have fought and sacrificed for our rights, freedom, and peace. Although we can't gather in the gym, we are grateful to those who have sent in pictures and videos for our virtual assembly #lestweforget#ffcaworks
We had so much fun celebrating Bat Day! We were fortunate enough to have a special guest from the Alberta Community Bat Program visit our class via Zoom. We learned about all the amazing things that bats do for humans & issues that they are facing. We are #batfriends in grade 1!
For the second time this week, over a thousand Calgarians gathered to have their voices heard. We continue to be proud of our cityโs ability to come together, be heard and support one another. We hear you, #yyc. There is much work to be done and we are committed to serving you.
If you teach Black kids, it is your responsibility to spark conversations with them (and your colleagues) about race. If you donโt teach Black kids, it is your responsibility to spark conversations with your students (and your colleagues) about race. Discomfort is no excuse.
Big thanks to Kelsey from the @mustardseedyyc for presenting on homelessness in Calgary. School Council and @ffca_nwe are running a sandwich drive on February 29th in support of our community members. Parents and families who want to help out, please RSVP. See email.
The Grade 4s worked so hard on their simple machine projects & were mighty proud to share them with classes around the school! #ffcaedu#sciencerules#simplemachines
