Tundu Lissu’s “no reform, no election” call was so irrelevant that the voting population supposedly ignored it and stampeded toward CCM. samia suluhu hassan claims 97.6 percent. Over 32 million votes. They insist the election went ahead, every ballot counted, almost no spoilt papers, and only the sick, less than 2 percent, stayed home. That means, by their own arithmetic, half the country including children voted ccm. If that story is true, then nobody listened to @TunduALissu. Nobody was moved. Nobody took note. You cannot charge a man with influencing an election that, according to the regime’s own numbers, treated his words as background noise. Either the 97.6 percent is a lie, or the charge is a lie.
