#TreatiesRecognitionWeek is coming soon, and this looks like a great opportunity for educators to learn about two treaties covering lands in Halton Region. Darin Wybenga of @mcfirstnation is an acclaimed speaker, historian, and former elementary school educator. @HDSBIndigenous
On November 9 at 6:30 p.m. join Darin Wybenga, Traditional Knowledge and Land Use Coordinator of @mcfirstnation, for an illustrated history of the Mississaugas and the story behind treaties 14 & 22, which cover the land that Oakville now sits on. Details: https://t.co/ysMbjBMnIq

Excellent thread on the importance of not just wearing a helmet but ensuring it is correctly fitted. Also remember that helmets need to be replaced after one impact, and materials degrade over time so even a collision-free helmet needs replacing approx. every 5 years.

He went up to my mom, introduced himself and said he'd stopped because he saw us...
We all play a part in upholding #TRC Calls to Action & must hold ourselves accountable. In the words of @jessewente “We can’t rely on governments, institutions, or companies to do this work. Only we, the people, can and must solve this most human of problems." #EveryChildMatters
I highly recommend the book @AaronWardDene refers to in this thread - “21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act: Helping Canadians make reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples a reality.” Essential reading for all Canadians. Buy it here: https://t.co/cJWKf9wCDM

@Hertz we are being asked to pay 42% in taxes on our rental car at PDX. We could have picked it up anywhere in Portland that is accessible by transit. We had no idea there was an additional charge to pick it up here. Your employee can’t transfer our reservation. Can you help us?
Ms. Finkbeiner is the captain of our Viking Ship here at Rolling Meadows, and we couldn't be prouder! Congratulations on your well-deserved @HaltonDSB#InspireAward! Your dedication to the people in our learning community, both big and small, knows no bounds. 👏❤️🏫@OPCouncil
A belated #AprilFoolsDay post.
KF1 students invited Ms. Hanmer to visit their classroom. When they offered her a brownie, of course she said YES.
Guess what they gave her? A brown E!
They are still giggling about it a week later.
