Creating halves was an entry point, but the conversation took off when Ss needed to create designs where 1/3 of the tiles needed to be one color. Stumped us for a bit but Ss problem solved with active collaboration and communication.
Playing around with square tiles this morning to think about fractions of a set. So many connections to explore among fraction models, equivalent fractions, ratios and proportions.

28 more schools are opening today but without the same safe measures as the first 4. It doesn’t make sense. It’s not right.
