@vanishree_rao honestly, I don’t wanna be a hater. but being a lawyer affects people. the main issue I see is the risk of insider trading. we’ve already seen such cases and not with random corps, but with ISW. that said, still can’t deny the potential
@vanishree_rao jokes aside, but old bookmakers used to take bets on aliens, WW3, and other stuff back in the day. and the idea of combining that kind of ridiculous gambling with under-regulated crypto sounds quite disturbing. just a bystander’s opinion
I’ll just leave it here. prediction markets are far more slippery than most people think. and I’m not even talking about moral issues, like allowing predictions on war. they combine high volatility and unregulated crypto with old, well-known, and strictly regulated gambling. in the short term, it’s a gem - but I’m convinced that regulation will shut them down sooner or later
@1_ixela@miketwinks@re not the first case - and, unfortunately, not the last one. a bunch of shitheads messed up the Sent community and keep doing the same elsewhere. instead of common support and positive vibes, they spray hatred. lol, the internet isn’t a firstborn
vletite v zabor
@morphyyxx@magicblock@solana Darkness blacker than black and darker than dark,
I beseech thee, combine with my deep crimson.
The time of awakening cometh.
Justice, fallen upon the infallible boundary,
appear now as an intangible distortion!
Couldn't hold myself, thats literally Megumin
what strucks me the most is the absolute nihilism. they’re literally shitting in the hand that feeds them. I remember the days of forum wars, when people smeared each other head to toe just to defend their point of view. this feels similar, but on a budget. It’s one thing to argue with an architect about art and creativity, and a completely different thing to explain to a bunch of sucklings where their place is. way too exhausting
just want to show what we sometimes end up with in web3.
j.mike is a moderator of the @re project.
and this is how he behaves in other communities toward people who are simply interested in projects and asking questions.
on the screenshots you can see that instead of dialogue, people get mockery, humiliation, and toxic behavior.
not criticism. not debate. just aggression.
as a result, anyone who could potentially be interested in re is met not with the product or the idea, but with this kind of “entry point” into the community.
i think it’s obvious what kind of impression that creates about the project.
and this is not only my view.
