As Canadian teachers it’s at the core of our duty to educate students about Truth and Reconciliation. @Drawn2Intellect articulates an accurate “Canada Day” vibe that I 100% support.
We are colonizers. How can you celebrate that and still teach kids about Indigenous People?

I get a bit 🙄 with White folx talking about “activist fatigue”. Imagine centuries of asking for things to be equitable and always hearing / seeing “nah we’d rather maintain our power”?

That’s fatigue.

It’s interesting to think about this in the context of feminism and how girls are taught that one key to the feminine code is to “always be nice”. We have to teach our girls to TEAR IT ALL DOWN and not be nice. #dismantlewsc
