For our ED 204 Service Learning Project our PLT put together a lesson about renewable and non-renewable resources. We explored prior knowledge, worked through guided notes, and create advertisements about the resources. #CCMMS#NCSUCED#ED204SLP
@miss_morgan_nc Our lead teacher actually gave us the suggestion to provide a website that our students could use for research! This way we could ensure they were getting information from a quality source.

@ms_ally123 I don’t think that they’ll be displayed around the school. Instead we had some students present their advertisements to the class. However, I think this activity could be modified where students create large billboard like advertisements so they could be posted around the school!
@MsCrist_Chem @mswilliamsteac1 It was truly awesome to be in a PLT for this project. I completely agree that this experience has showed how important it is to be in a supportive PLT that will also push you to do your best work. So happy we were able to model our teamwork to our students. 😄
@MsSutton_Math I think it is awesome that you were able to create a fun opportunity for review for your students! I find that engaged students learn best, and your activity seems so engaging! Were your students able to finish the whole scavenger hunt before class ended?
@educatorkkim@CCMMSRedwolves@NCStateCED I think that is such an important learning, and one that I've also realized as a result of our SLP! Did students get to write any poems of their own?
@MsLeeintheLab I love that you were each able to have time with every student! That seems to be one of the biggest perks of co-teaching and it's awesome that your PLT took advantage of that opportunity! I wonder how this lesson could be adapted when there's only one teacher in the classroom?
@miss_morgan_nc Great job on creating the Bingo Board! What a fun way to practice your math skills! This makes me wonder how I could use a game like Bingo in my science classroom 🤔
This whole experience was bitter-sweet, because although we got to teach in a classroom for the first time, it was our last visit to @CCMMSRedwolves I’m so thankful that we were able to observe at #CCMMS this semester. This is an experience that I won’t forget 😊 #ED204SLP
My SLP takeaways:
•our students are so creative and capable of producing amazing things
•adding TikToks into a lesson definitely catches students’ attention
•students follow directions to the letter; if you want them to use color you better include it in the directions😂
Today I co-taught my first biology lesson in the safe space of my EMS 205 class! I’m super grateful to be able to practice my co-teaching skills before they are put into action at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School! 😁 #coteaching#ncstateced#ems205#biology
Was able to experience Jamboard IRL in @NCStateCEDMETRC ! I definitely enjoyed being able to write on the board (made me feel very “teacher-y”). However, using the sticky notes online still seems to be the most versatile use of Jamboard!
