@TUIUK I’ve been trying to do that with the childcare ski rep. It is not working. The solutions provided were unacceptable: 1) no skiing at all just full childcare; 2) 1-1 ski lesson for 5 days; 3) cancel the while thing.
We planned and were excited about 2.5 hours of ski lessons daily
@TUIUK I have sent a DM. Urgent support needed: our Crystal ski trip has been ruined! After £14k spent on a ski trip my 7yo daughter has been refused lessons by ESF due an allergy. Urgent action required, we leave at 5:50am. #disability#disabilityact
@crystalski Imagine booking your second week of skiing with Crystal ski in consecutive years and then finding out ESF won’t teach your 7yo in a group lesson due to her allergy literally hours before you fly! I am utterly devastated for both of us. Having paid nearly £2k each.
@CCrissy09803945@Headteacherchat@chrisdysonHT@PrimaryCoHead In secondary, our tutors write 1000 characters on each tutee, HoY comment on all of the students in their year and then SLT split the school and write on a high number. The personal comment is highly regarded by parents and students.
@nicola_ellen_w@_MissieBee Me too, although I adopted my daughter as a single parent, so there is no other person in our lives at all. I shop at Aldi now - that really does make a difference. It’s also incredible how far you can stretch a whole chicken over 4 days!
@stuart_guest@teacherhead My child’s 4 and I’m proud to say much of the list is ticked off … because it’s all my responsibility. As a single parent, who chose this adopted parent life, it’s my responsibility. A full time deputy HT and a mummy, I chose it. She will not go without!
@ZoeAndrews80 Request a PCR for you (teachers are priority) and add your son to the request. I was pinged but D had symptoms so I did the same on Friday.
@MissCatnach What saved me is team sports. I was alone most of my adult life until I adopted my daughter at 40. 2 years on, I still play hockey but live the most happy life with my 4yr old daughter too.
@missdcox While half the countries school workforce are flying off to seek out the sun and rest, the other half of us are isolating having contracted Covid in the last few days of term.
@nicksnook @maternityCPD I completed my NPQH in August 2018, then adopted my little girl in August 2020 at the age of 40 (as a single mother). After one year of being a parent of a nearly 4yo and back to work FT, I know I can’t be both a HT and a parent yet. I’m still hopeful that one day I will be.
