@971theticketxyt Special interest tax exemptions are unfair to the general populace. If they’re beneficial to one group, those same considerations should be given to all.
Kurt Cobain would’ve turned 59 today.
Still wild how “Smells Like Teen Spirit” didn’t just launch Nirvana — it reset rock’s whole timeline. That SNL performance on Jan 11, 1992? Pure electricity.
Thanks, Kurt. 🕯️
An Abu Dhabi royal backed a secret $500 million investment in Trump’s crypto company. Months later, U.A.E. won access to tightly guarded American AI chips. https://t.co/7jVpCE1KK7
Within hours of the Epstein file release,
a superPAC funded by Israel-first billionaires Miriam Adelson, Paul Singer, and John Paulson, who himself appears in Epstein’s black book,
bought another $800,000 of TV ads against me.
I’ll still win, but if I lose, it was worth it.
@Kalshi lol, it’s always the same used justification when one country wants to invade & control another sovereign territory. It will be interesting to see if his base gives him cover on this or if they push back like they did on the Epstein files.
I’m not afraid. I’ve been dead for 47 years this is the voice of a woman in Iran who is fed up with the Islamic republic.
47 years ago, the Islamic Republic took our rights and turned a nation into hostages.
Today people have nothing left to lose, they rise.
Iran is rising.
@ByronYork@TomKattman It’s always amazes me when one party crosses the line of what’s acceptable, weaponizing government against their rivals, & not realizing that those same rivals will do the same to them when the pendulum swings back. Both the D & R leadership are morally bankrupt.
The most vocal critics of the debt and deficit tend to be people who run successful trading businesses: Dalio, Griffin, Druckenmiller, Singer, Solomon, Gross, Dimon, Gundlach, etc. Here's my theory why...
Every successful trading business is grounded in risk management. Long-term success depends on avoiding systemic blowups. These managers are confident their platforms will thrive over time, but only if they steer clear of tail-risk events and so they're acutely focused on avoiding them.
The US is the most successful platform the world has ever seen. This country has delivered enormous gains in living standards and health and has tremendous potential to continue doing so, but only if it avoids the tail-risk events.
Excessive debt is one of those. It poses an existential risk for a country. Nobody can predict when, how, or even if excessive debt will trigger a crisis, just as no trader can predict when a poorly managed position might implode.
That uncertainty is no excuse to ignore the risk. That's what bothers traders about the national debt. The US is holding a position with significant and potentially catastrophic risk for little benefit. And instead of managing it responsibly, it keeps adding exposure.
In trading, ignoring risk is the most reliable path to collapse. The same holds true in governing a country.
@BillAckman@realDonaldTrump@elonmusk Elon tolerated Trump much longer than I thought he would. Elon is brilliant & Trump is a bafoon. Trump is just another dumb a$$ pandering politician.
