France, Germany, Italy and Britain issued a joint statement on Thursday condemning the “massive increase” in Israeli settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank. The four foreign ministers said the attacks “must stop,” warning that settler assaults are sowing terror among Palestinians and “undermine ongoing efforts to bring peace and ensure the lasting security of the State of Israel itself.” The statement called on Israel to abide by international law, protect Palestinian residents living under occupation, and hold perpetrators accountable. The E4 also reiterated opposition to settlement expansion and any steps toward annexation, saying the situation in the West Bank “has become intolerable” and requires urgent action.

🟡 Israel’s Genocide Has Not Stopped — Amnesty International

A new Amnesty International briefing finds Israel’s genocide in Gaza continuing under the so-called ceasefire, with Israeli authorities still deliberately inflicting conditions of life “calculated to bring about the physical destruction” of Palestinians — and no evidence their intent has changed.

The report notes Israel is still blocking food, medicine, fuel, spare parts and the entry of equipment needed to repair water, sewage and electricity networks. Israel is also preventing the entry of shelter materials, sewage pumps, rubble-clearing machinery and unexploded-ordnance removal equipment — even as winter flooding devastates displacement camps. Engineers say Gaza City can now produce only one-third of its basic water needs because repairs remain banned.

More than 55% of essential drugs are at zero stock, including 74% of cancer medications, and doctors describe patients “dying a slow death” from treatable conditions. Households may now receive two daily meals instead of one, but Amnesty says dietary deprivation remains severe: vegetables, fruit, protein and eggs and nutritious food are still out of reach for most families.

Israel’s forced displacement also continues. The military remains deployed across over half of Gaza, sealing off the fertile areas behind the “yellow line” and shooting Palestinians who try to return to their homes or farmland. Amal, a 54-year-old teacher, told Amnesty she would sleep on the rubble of her destroyed house “if Israel allowed us back,” but soldiers fire on anyone crossing the line.

Amnesty warns that flooding, disease, hunger and blocked infrastructure repairs are producing the same life-threatening conditions documented before the ceasefire. Bombardment has paused, but the machinery of destruction has not. The organization concludes that nothing in Israel’s conduct suggests a shift away from the genocidal policies identified in its December 2024 report, and that the ceasefire “must not become a smokescreen” for the ongoing destruction of Gaza’s population.

More than a month after the ‘ceasefire’ was announced, life is not returning to normal in Gaza.

Over 300 people, including 136 children, have been killed by Israeli forces since the ‘ceasefire’ was announced in October.

While Israeli forces have reduced the scale of attacks, humanitarian aid and medical supplies continue to be restricted.

There is no indication from Israeli authorities that the deliberate, brutal conditions of life they inflict on Palestinians is going to end.

The world must not be fooled.
