“I must endure the presence of a few caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.”
— The Little Prince
None of us is perfect. If we can accept the imperfections in the people we love, we can focus more on the things we love about them. In turn, they may show us even more of those qualities, and we can love them more.
If we can accept our own imperfections, we can love ourselves more as well.
Life has its ups and downs, and although we often take peaceful times for granted, everyone will face difficulties sooner or later. By preparing in advance rather than panicking when challenges arise, we can gain peace of mind, focus on what matters, and live more fully.
These remarkable insects do far more than simply look beautiful. Ground beetles patrol the soil at night, helping to keep pests in check, while ladybirds can eat hundreds of aphids during their lifetime. The magnificent Stag Beetle, Britain’s largest beetle, spends most of its life hidden underground as a larva before emerging for a brief summer appearance. A cast of jewel like creatures, what is not to love.
Wildlife friendly gardens can be any size or style. In fact, residential gardens make up around half of all urban green space, giving them huge potential to support nature.
Across the UK, our gardens are home to millions of trees, nest boxes and ponds, and nearly half of us connect with wildlife right outside our back door.
The good news? You don’t need to let your garden run wild. Simple changes, such as planting pollinator-friendly flowers, providing water or creating shelter, can make a real difference. Every garden has the potential to be a haven for wildlife 💚

"We agreed that our primary mandate would be investigative #journalism. We’d dig, analyse, identify, reconstruct, reveal – and, above all, narrate. Storytelling would be our baseline and our distinctive trait, our flag and our seal." ~Abraham Jiménez Enoa
😣#Fearless Reporting is an investment in our capacity to tell stories that cross borders, awaken empathy and restore strength, even in places where people no longer believe strength exists. Even propaganda empires built over decades are not omnipotent.😁

My friends and I wanted to tell the story of Cuban life, without interference. Before long, I was being isolated, monitored and interrogated |A version of this essay was previously published in the Dial under the title The Sneeze. Translation by Lily Meyer

If we couldn’t get money, we’d work for nothing until we could attract underwriters outside Cuba. We’re going to take on all this work because the stories matter and the stories are here. All we have to do is go out, get them and tell them well. #Sneeze

My father’s philosophy of nonviolence was never meant to be admired from a distance. It was meant to be studied, practiced, and lived.
The 6 Steps of Kingian Nonviolence offer a framework for confronting injustice with discipline, courage, and love in action. This is how we move beyond reaction and toward transformation.
