@MissMadison444 I’m so glad you had a good experience with your students and mentor teacher this semester! I hope you get to finally just sit down and relax for a bit now that everything is over!
I didn’t go to my placement this week due to some personal reasons, but I am going back next week to see my students one last time before the semester is over! I’m so sad to leave them, but I am ready to just sit back and relax now! #EDU310
I had my second observation and overall it went well! I was even told that my classroom management seemed to improve from last time! I’m so happy to be done with everything, but sad that that means my time with my students is coming to an end. #EDU310
@Mx_EsStrange Ouu that sounds exciting! I love when we can base our lessons on the current holiday or season! I feel like it engages the student so much more, especially littles! Good luck, I hope it all goes well!
My students are on spring break this week so I haven’t gone to my placement. Although I’m grateful for this mini break to catch up on some things, I cannot wait to see them again! #EDU310
@Mx_EsStrange My students did the same activity today! It’s interesting how our classes both had the same lesson going on but for different grade levels. Maybe it was a school-wide thing?
I was able to help a student work through a challenging assignment that she told herself she couldnt do. Once she finally got it, she was SO proud of herself. Sometimes imposter syndrome hits me, but then things like this happen & make me so excited to help more students! #EDU310
@madisonowens452 Im so glad that you’re having a better experience with your placement! Middle school can be very scary. But a boiling incentive sound so fun and I’m sure they’ll love it! I hope it all works out in the end! Good luck! 😊
Today my mentor teacher and I began to plan for my second observation. It will be whole group as I have yet to do a lesson that way. I’m very nervous, but my teacher made it clear that she is there whenever I need her support, which has eased some of my anxiety 😊❤️ #EDU310
@MissMadison444 That sounds like a great idea! I’m also thinking about doing a whole group discussion since I did a small group last time. Hopefully we both get enough practice in before that! Good luck!
Not much happened during my placement this week. However, my mentor teacher has planned for me to finally start my own whole group lessons next week! Hopefully everything goes well #EDU310
@Mx_EsStrange I love this! Such a fun way to engage students in their reading! I’m definitely going to make a fort with my son tomorrow now for our own reading time! 😊❤️
I had my first observation today and overall it went really well! It’s hard to feel qualified enough to give a lesson at this stage, but the positive feedback I received definitely helps with these feelings! One down, one more to go! 😊 #EDU310
@MissMadison444 That’s so interesting how 4K doesn’t have a standard! I wonder how lesson planning will differ without using any standard to go off of 🤔 I hope everything goes well for you, though! Good luck!
I did not get to go to my placement this week as I have been sick for the past week or so. I’m feeling a little nervous about that because I have my first observation next Tuesday. Hopefully everything still works out 🤞🏻#EDU310
@MrsHannahG24 My 4th graders last semester learned this strategy too! When I tell you their writing improved drastically afterwards, I mean it! It’s great to see others learning/relearning it, too!
Today my students had a “word of the day” and it was the word “grief”. My mentor teacher asked them if they could give a sentence using the word, and one said “I felt grief when my dog froze in the snow and died.” 😳 wasn’t expecting that, but I guess it works… #EDU310
@Mx_EsStrange We have a theme too! Ours is camping theme 🏕 she calls them her “little campers” 🥹 I love themed rooms! Lemons are a bit interesting though. That’s the theme of my kitchen, so I’d never think to do it for a classroom 😂
