BLUE MESSAGE: This is an extremely difficult photo to look at and post when you’ve been inside an emergency room of an officer who lost his life. But take a moment to do just that.

This photo was shared by a Decatur Police Sergeant’s wife. She asked for this photo to be shared, and that seems like the least we can do. Her husband was shot several times and wounded, along with one of his colleagues, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. And, thankfully, by the grace of God, they both survived. According to his family, the officer wearing this patch was shot 5 times. And he somehow fought back. AND SURVIVED.

Sgt. Tim Wittmer’s wife shared this photo of her husband’s uniform sleeve, while he recovers from serious wounds to his shoulder, hand, hip, foot, and eye. She says: “In the next couple of days a video will be released of someone trying to murder my husband. You’re going to see him fighting for his life and the lives of his fellow officers. We would ask that you please share this picture taken of his uniform as a show of your support and demonstrate that you will not tolerate the anti-police lies in the current narrative. Thank you 💙”

What else? Well, in under one week, 14 officers have been shot in the line of duty, while performing the sworn responsibilities of their jobs. 7 of them died.

SEVEN.

In under one week.

I don’t know that from “mainstream media.” Oddly enough, they haven’t shared about that, apparently not an important story.

The one who wore this patch, and his partner, will one day have a story to tell. A story that will help others. They made it. But they need your prayers for a full physical, emotional, and mental recovery.
