Hi guys.
I was on the phone with one of your colleagues last week. We literally just got our new sofa in June and because we were in FL first 3 months didn’t really get to enjoy it and had our bed delivered the Tuesday before #HurricaneHelene hit.
I told one of your people I’d send the pictures and video of the event but didn’t have the email address for Keith in Ashville. To send it. Out of something so tragic, something great happened BECAUSE of the sofa we purchased with you.
That day the water rose on either side of side of the street. We were one of the last houses to go under. We are also one of the youngest couples on the road. So James and two neighbours brought all the neighbours into our home. Including a 94 yr old gentleman with Alzheimer’s and his wife and 89-year-old lady with cancer and blind.
Within 30-40 min the water was chest deep in our home. The cushions of the sofa as you can see in the first video saved lives.
Because it was memory foam it floated. So we had everyone hold on to them inside the house.
The current at the front of the house was too strong to leave the front exit. We had to wait till the water levels rose same height in our house to open the sliding door.
James tied a rope around me and I jumped into the swift water jumping on a tree, then swimming to the 25-30 ft embankment where I climbed for help.
James tied the 14/15 elderly people to the cushions and floated them to the embankment, where are human chain? Neigbour from the back neighbourhood helped lift the people to safety.
I just wanted you guys to know that as much as the Diamond care didn’t cover our sofa or bed that we are extremely grateful for the cushions of that sofa because without them those people would not be alive today.
So that’s a new one for your advertisements Ashley furniture saves lives 😌
If you could pass this on to Keith from Asheville so that he may see this, he knows who James and amanda are You guys just wanted to know. You can see the story on @DrPhil in the coming days #ashleyfurnituresaveslives
Rest in Peace, Police Officer Didarul Islam of the New York City Police Department — who died in the line of duty during yesterday’s tragic shooting in Manhattan. End of Watch: July 28, 2025.
Officer Islam had been with the NYPD’s 47th precinct for over 3 years. During the shooting, he had been working security for the building, acting quickly and heroically putting himself in harm’s way to defend others.
Officer Islam leaves behind two young sons and his wife, who is pregnant with their third child.
Please join the @FBI in praying for his family, friends, and colleagues he leaves behind. We will offer them our full support.
Honor our fallen.

Hi guys,
As many of you know our Irish Angel, Amanda was directly impacted by Hurricane Helene, one of our very dear friends Kristen from @wives_blue has created a @FundtheFirst .com to help Amanda and James rebuild their lives. We thank you Kristen for doing this for our Angel.
She always cares for us, now it’s time we look after her.
Please read and share. We appreciate any support you can give. #irishangel #fundthefirst

Hi guys,
Sorry been off the raider. I finally got settled in N.C. It’s been a tough time for me leaving home and all I know.
Just as I get settled, we got hit with the hurricane that devastated the whole area on Hendersonville and surrounding areas.
Many of you may have seen our video across the new networks tonight.
The street we are on had water come from both ends of the street, our house being in the middle. As the water rose and currents hit swift we knew we had to get people into our house, as at the time we where not as effected as others. James and a neighbour went out in fast current to rescue the elderly and move to get into our house.
Within minutes the water was up to my chest in the house. With a house full of people we knew we had to get people out.
I went out the back, swam to a tree, and then swam to a 30 foot embankment, and climbed up to get help from above.
The people that came to help were awesome. I am extremely grateful to each and everyone of them.
James floated the elderly one cushions from our sofa and tied them to him till they made it to the bank. The amazing people from above helped James create a human chain to help pull the people up the bank to safety as there simply was no help coming as currents where to strong to get to us.
It was frightening to say the least.
Our home was destroyed and we lost everything. But we are extremely thankful to strangers that are now friends that have went out of their way to help us. It’s amazing to see a communities come together to help us and many others.
No flood insurance because this area just never ever floods. Many neighbours were told by insurance companies that it wasn’t necessary.
Only one person on the street had it. So needless to say everyone’s heartbroken.
One good thing that came out of all of this, we are alive, many aren’t.
I’ve been through a LOT in my life but God is good, he has brought communities together, and even through the devastating situation, we have nothing but love and gratitude toward each other.
I thank everyone that reached out to check in on me, I’ve just had no service to get back to everyone. It’s times like this you know people care. It opens your eyes to a lot, the fact that we all need to be kind to one another. We never know the minute or the hour that things can go so wrong, so fast. So that being said, love on each other, and please pray for all that was impacted by this hurricane.
I know we are alive, but now it’s a hard tough road to rebuild again.
Stay safe guys. Much love and prayers to all. Love from your #irishangel

Good morning my lovelies. It’s Tied up Tuesday.
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday.
Today we don’t get ourselves tied up with what could have been or what peoples perception of you is.
Always stay true to yourself and your values. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned that not every one will like you or they may have a perception of who you are when in reality you’re the furthest things from that perception.
Never feel that others actions and thoughts are from something you have done. People will always be people, in order to find peace in our lives we have to remove ourselves from the negative in order to thrive.
Learn to judge less and care more.
You do you and do you well. We are all unique in our thoughts, how we look and how act. The only person you should be in competition with is yourself.
The world would be a very boring place if we were all the same.
There is so much beauty in the world, especially when you’re kind toward others. Because what we put out to the world is we receive back, so good vibes and energy my friends.
In a world where you can be anything BE KIND.
Daily reminder…
When you learn how much you're worth you'll stop giving people
discounts.
Knowing your worth. Know the difference between what you're getting and
what you deserve.
You are amazing, and never forget that.
Have a great Tied Up Tuesday, and may the luck of the Irish be with you all.
To all of my dear friends in Law Enforcement, EMS, Firefighters, Military and Security have yourselves safe Tied Up Tuesday. Hook em, Cuff em & Book em. Stay safe my lovelies. Much love and respect to you all always!! Love from your #irishangel
