His testimony is total corporate hypocrisy.

1: AI is now not "open source" - AI is "open weight"- they dont tell you what they are hiding.

They aren't giving away a blueprint; they are sharing math.

2: ​Dario is literally a primary beneficiary of the wide-open research Google gave to the world for free.

Pulling up the ladder behind you after you've crossed the bridge is a wild look.

3: ​For years, these closed-door CEOs used Frankenstein marketing—screaming about AI being a "monster"—to pump up their multi-billion dollar valuations.

4: ​Now that their own fear-mongering is backfiring on enterprise adoption and inviting bans, they run straight to Washington to secure a regulatory monopoly.

It’s textbook regulatory capture.

It’s hilarious watching tech billionaires build their entire empires on open Google research, use apocalyptic fear-mongering to pump up their valuations, and then run straight to the White House to legislate away their open-weight competitors under the guise of "safety."

Dario is undeniably a brilliant technical builder, but his recent essays and congressional testimonies position him as the face of "responsible, closed-door AI."
