For 45 years, the world called her a living saint.

🇮🇪 LAUREN'S LAW "Who is Driving You Home?" (A Proposed Bill to keep women and girls safe)

We @IrishInquiry once interviewed a young Irish woman (Lauren Spencer) who is a victim of serious migrant crime. She was kidnapped and raped repeatedly in various sick ways in a several hour long attack by a migrant who posed as a taxi driver. Ioan Lingurar (36) is Romanian.

He had already kidnapped and raped a Canadian exchange student (here in Ireland) before he attacked Lauren. It subsequently came to light he had a criminal record for serious sexual crimes before he ever stepped foot on Irish soil.

Lauren's teeth were damaged beyond repair (and she was left in agony) because he smashed her head and face off the dashboard and beat her. She survived by grabbing the steering wheel and then jumping out of the moving car. Lauren knew if she did not take her chance, she wouldn't make it home to her little boy who has severe disabilities.

That was her second attempt to escape. In the first attempt she tried to drive the car away from the top of a cliff, as her attacker made calls on his phone outside the car. He was likely telling his friends he had a girl. Lauren could not and had never been able to drive. But she knew she had to survive and it was less risky to attempt to drive than to stay where she was. With a monster.

The Irish government failed in their duty to protect Lauren. In fact, she became homeless after the attack. By then she had another baby on the way. She lived in a homeless shelter where she had a very disturbing experience with Roma gypsies subjecting her to sexual assault and sexual harassment within one hostel.

The government didn't help Lauren. Not with her physical or mental health, and not with her housing situation. She is now doing better, but she achieved this largely by herself.

Lauren is a very kind and thoughtful person. Always thinking of others before herself. I was struck by her courage and strength, but also her gentle nature which has somehow been unaffected by violent brutality and state neglect.

Now Lauren has teamed up with tireless campaigner Dee Wall to bring about Lauren's Law (see poster below). This is a response to the government refusal to stop allowing everyone and anyone in the door with no checks, and then allowing a situation where driving a fake taxi is as easy to do as crossing our border.

Another case to take note of is that of a man who raped a woman in her own home after he dropped her to her house, having posed as a taxi driver.

Romanian Costel Raducan was convicted last June of burglary, rape and attempted anal rape.

Judge Paul Burns said this was an extremely disturbing case and "the stuff of nightmares" where a man “posing as a taxi driver” drove the victim home and waited outside stalking the house "until she was alone and vulnerable".

He denied even being at her address at all.

When confronted with DNA evidence, Raducan claimed the woman had invited him into her home and consented to sex.

It is worth bearing in mind the victim would have been cross examined by the defence because of these lies.

The Romanian national has shownn no remorse (not did Lingurar).

Judge Burns said there was significant premeditation. He said there were no real mitigating factors before sentencing Raducan to...only 12 years, even suspending the final year for a period of three years, subject to conditions.

He ordered the sentence to be backdated from May 30th, he will be out in 9 years.

These cases are becoming more prevalent and we know why.
Furthermore, these men will rape again. Predators like this do not change.

Where does it all end?
