@lippyent I was so broke in my first apartment that buying cleaning supplies was a splurge. I still have unfashionable bedroom dressers my mother got from neighbours in the 1980’s. Our furniture is an eclectic mix of old and new as buying new was never a priority.
@ProfessorCynic@hell_line0 The closest equivalent of a vasectomy is tubal ligation. Though it is more of an invasive procedure than a vasectomy, it has a faster recovery time than a hysterectomy.
@MadelaineLucyH I always knew I wanted children. My kids bring me so much joy! I wish all babies were fortunate enough to be born wanted and planned for, as mine were. I wish all potential parents have their wishes fulfilled, to have - or not have - children.
@justsayin60 Hey neighbour! 🇨🇦 I’ve enjoyed many visits to the USA but won’t be coming back anytime soon. If you’re not a 51st stater you’ll find yourself still very welcome here as a tourist.
@rushforth_lisa@kim_canuck@gilescoren In Canada and the USA, “America” almost always refers to the USA. If you’re referring to a continent you need to specify e.g. “North America”. Perhaps other places use these words differently but I am a proud Canadian! 🇨🇦 I am NOT American!!!!!! Please don’t call us Americans.
@StephCharles69@brownecfm mRNA and DNA are not at all the same thing. Cat, rat, bat and mat also have similar spelling but they’re not the same either.
@MayloneVal@JeromeAdamsMD Genes are in DNA in the nucleus of our cells (like a locked file cabinet in the office). mRNA is a short instruction for building proteins outside the cell’s nucleus (like a recipe card). Even if you brought them to the same location, they’re not the same material.
@walkmanF29@JeromeAdamsMD 70s&80s: I remember in my mother’s large family only ONE adult was a non smoker. It got very hazy indoors at family gatherings. Of those who are still alive, all but one has quit smoking.
@StephCharles69@brownecfm Respirators (N95, FFP2) and baggy blue masks are not the same. Those blue masks are mainly for catching germy droplets from the wearer. Respirators protect the wearer.

@pot8um Canada stopped making pennies in 2012. As a Canadian, I don’t feel it was a difficult change. Digital transactions aren’t impacted. Cash payments are rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents.

@MeetJess@K3LLYB33N Which segment of the population is most likely to have no prior immunity from previous infection or vaccination? And also has the narrowest airways? And also disproportionate hospitalization rates? And also not offered free covid vaccines in Québec? BABIES
