Today, I had the distinct honor of attending my inaugural ZANU-PF Central Committee meeting at the party headquarters. I extend my profound gratitude to the First Secretary and President, His Excellency Cde Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, alongside the ZANU-PF Manicaland Provincial leadership, for reposing their trust and confidence in me with this momentous assignment. It was truly inspiring to receive the strategic and revolutionary marching orders directly from our Head of State, aimed at advancing the core mission of our formidable party. These instructions demand that we remain deeply rooted among the people, serving with humility and executing the party's mandate with absolute precision.

In his address, President E.D. Mnangagwa eloquently reminded us that under the Second Republic, our national empowerment and wealth-creation initiatives are anchored on an immutable principle: political independence without economic self-reliance is fundamentally incomplete. True sovereignty is measured by our capacity to feed our people, industrialize our economy, and modernize our infrastructure from within. While we remain appreciative of external partners who collaborate with us across various sectors, the ultimate mandate for national development rests squarely upon our own shoulders. This is a foundational truth that must resonate with every Zimbabwean, across generations:

Today, I had the distinct honor of attending the 27th Ordinary Session of the National Consultative Assembly (NCA) at the ZANU-PF Headquarters in Harare, a seminal gathering presided over by H.E. President and First Secretary, Cde Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa. In a profound opening address, the President issued a compelling call for an unyielding unity of purpose across all echelons of the Party and the nation, emphasizing that collective cohesion is the bedrock upon which Zimbabwe's developmental goals will be realized.

Furthering this vision of national solidarity, he paid a reverent tribute to the late Father Zimbabwe, Dr. J.M.N. Nkomo, subsequently directing the Office of the Secretary-General to spearhead the development of a modern, comprehensive archive to preserve the rich tapestry of the Party's history and immortalize the monumental contributions of iconic trailblazers like Umdhala Wethu. Grounding the session in constitutional framework, the President characterized the NCA as an indispensable advisory organ under Article 11 of the Party Constitution, emphasizing that its collective leadership, institutional wisdom, and enduring patriotism must continue to steer the trajectory of both our revolutionary Party and the nation at large, while offering strategic ideological stewardship to all subsidiary organs.

Underscoring the imperatives of a modern era, the President exhorted members to progressively embrace technological innovation and deploy it with high responsibility to catalyze progress for both the Party and the sovereign state, resolutely reaffirming that ZANU-PF remains a permanent pillar of Zimbabwe's political landscape. On the economic front, he delivered a compelling vision of resource nationalism, reiterating that the nation's vast mineral wealth must tangibly enrich the livelihoods of every Zimbabwean and anchor broad-based national development. Turning to global statecraft, President Mnangagwa highlighted Zimbabwe's deliberate strides in fortifying bilateral relations with continental and international partners, particularly as the nation strategically positions itself to assume the prestigious Chairmanship of COMESA later this year. Ultimately, the assembly stood as a powerful testament to our unyielding commitment to national unity, historical heritage, and an inclusive, forward-looking economic trajectory driven by an absolute unity of purpose.
