Leonardo DiCaprio will win another #Oscar in this lifetime. I can assure you. For those of us who’ve followed Leo’s career from the jump, we all know DiCaprio should have multiple statues in his den at this very moment. Regardless, he’s got another Marty film & Heat 2 upcoming.
Pacino lost for The Godfather Part II at 35, Peter O’Toole lost for Lawrence of Arabia at 31, DiCaprio lost for The Aviator at 31, and Brando lost for A Streetcar Named Desire at 28.
They were all the best of their year. It is not arrogance; being a 30-year-old star rarely fits the historical profile of Best Actor winners. They usually win later, often for smaller performances (as in the cases of Pacino and DiCaprio), while O’Toole was never properly rewarded in competition.
Chalamet will have his year, and he will continue to be a star and a better actor than the awards dictates.
