@elonmusk if you had a friend that gave you $1M every month would you be careful of saying something that might piss them off and potentially cause them to stop giving you money?
@Gamenadian@pcfla2014@crazyfamilyomg@GregAbbott_TX i mean he didnt run them over or shoot anyone when they were just mobbing his car… it was when the one with a rifle drawn walked towards him that he feared for his life and used his god given right to self defense. the protestors should not have escalated the situation…
@libertycorn0123 @GregAbbott_TX the detective on the case actually said there was no evidence of it being premeditated. i think a great way for protesters to not get shot is to not violently hold a car hostage with 20+ people at night.
@crazyfamilyomg@GregAbbott_TX would you fear for your life if you made a wrong turn at night and 20+ people ran over to surround your car and began hitting it and yelling at you? and one of those guys approaches your window with a rifle at the ready? answer honestly.
@LP_CLC@GregAbbott_TX he got shot for holding the driver hostage and assaulting him with a mob of 20+ people probably. i know i would fear for my life if that happened and a guy in the mob attacking me walked up to my window with a rifle.
@supremeMilo@GregAbbott_TX no he and 20+ people RAN to the car to surround it (leaving no way for the driver to retreat) and began hitting the car (leaving the driver in fear for his life). having the rifle is not why he was shot, trapping a guy in his car and assaulting him with a rifle at the ready is…
@EdKrassen “law abiding” = surrounding a car and blocking their movement?? if he had a path to leave he would take it but unfortunately the protestors kidnapped him by fully circling his car and he used his god given right to self defense to make sure he got home that night.
@EdKrassen if im driving at night and 20+ people surround my car (blocking my retreat) and start hitting it and someone comes up to my window with a rifle at the ready, im fearing for my life. anyone who says they wouldnt is being dishonest. self defense.
@pahanse@OffenseTaker4@ivanjwebb@0xgaut when did i say it was? congress is not interested in making logical reforms. and economic needs are absolutely used to fast track immigration programs (see: j1 visas which address rural healthcare needs.) these programs should be implemented to bring in necessary labor only.
@pahanse@OffenseTaker4@ivanjwebb@0xgaut and should be determined by economic needs i agree. sadly that immigration reform proposal was shot down immediately in congress.
@pahanse@OffenseTaker4@ivanjwebb@0xgaut in our current jobs market admitting more general unskilled labor will decrease wages for americans in these labor jobs. that is why it is important to use economics to determine these caps. meanwhile america always needs doctors/engineers/soldiers/etc. and will help them get in.
@pahanse@OffenseTaker4@ivanjwebb@0xgaut logical immigration reform involves looking at your economy and altering the caps for immigration based on your needs. not just arbitrarily increasing caps because you feel like it. and we absolutely need to secure our borders from people looking to abuse our systems.
@pahanse@OffenseTaker4@ivanjwebb@0xgaut they worked for their greencard by following a process that anyone else can follow. the US should only be admitting the best and brightest to come here, or people who fill economic needs (temp agriculture, etc.)
