OMG -- @Tesla roadside is THE WORST. Flat tire, used the app the request roadside service. 1 hour later, no roadside service, or status on request, or even acknowledgement that I had made a request. They failed utterly.
AAA, who I should have called first, was awesome.
@mudasobwa Hey Aleksei, there is an article which contains some of the why: https://t.co/jlcQeEJqZp .. if you really want to know why. If you just want to say "Wow I don't like that" ... valid too.
@SubsonicMonkey I have a GK MB series for living room situations and it is so ridiculously light that I am filled with joy every time I pick it up. Definitely try one.
@joshptemple@lloydtabb@bennstancil That ticks a lot of boxes. In both comparisons there is modern, user-productivity-centered abstraction mapping to an older, computer-execution oriented abstraction. I can't pick a "best analogy" from the two .. whichever one makes you want to check out Malloy 😀
Still mentally committed to documenting what goes through the head of a language designer, so here's another installment in the series, about filters in Malloy: https://t.co/kjVM6yproC
Found this when rummaging around twitter to see if anyone posted about my article to say what an idiot I am.
This is absolutely true for Malloy, because it is a language for a different way of thinking about data.
I see programming languages as tools for thought as much as tools for making the computer do something
the view that "programming languages aren't important" frankly mystifies me—it's like saying that conceptual design is unimportant
I am continuing to write about the experience of designing a computer language. If that sort of thing is interesting, the second in the series is now available.

I'm excited to share Malloy Composer, a demo of a data exploration tool built on top of the Malloy Language. I don't think you have seen anything like it. https://t.co/KvWz3wqrJZ
With humility and acknowledgement that all things are done in collaboration, I am the language designer of a new query language (Malloy). The Malloy team has tried to make something lovely, but we have very few eyes on our work. Thank you @sharon000, your words are a gift!
I would like to join the hundreds of millions of people tweeting "Hey Twitter, remember me, sorry about that whole Facebook thing, it wasn't you, it was me. Will you take me back?"
https://t.co/lWHd6GfWr1 -- I'll be "attending" (virtually). So many cool stories, looking forward to this year. ( also HT to @SwartzCr who connected me to this, I'm pretty interested is his talk about reading "The Tombs of Atuan" as the ur-text of the rogue-like esthetic. )
Trump should show some courage and leadership and form his own political party. The Republicans never really supported him and kind of held him back. If he really wanted to "drain the swamp" he'd get out of the mud.
@romanmars can we get someone to design flags for all the compass points so that people in the south can fly non hateful flags at racetracks. I'd kinda like to see a "west" flag too.
Today at the Values Voter Summit #VVS19, they dis-invted
@VoteCommon
before they could wreck everything by proposing we actually vote our Christian values https://t.co/aWlfvrW2zh
Playing Heads Up, the words are “Bruno Mars”, people cannot guess because they only know about @romanmars ... I do not get the point, but love my nerdy family so much.
