Yes! I clearly remember asking my professors if they had freelance advice to give me and they all just sort of shrugged. Their experiences were from a time when you were on staff or nothing, buy that’s not how it’s worked for a looonnng time.
i've spoken with a dozen freelance journalists like myself who went to j-school and every single one said there was little to no freelance education in their school's curriculum.
it's almost as if talking about the possibility of freelancing after graduation is taboo.
Many people think they are striving for perfection when in fact in fact they are striving for some particular thing that is no more or less perfect than any of the other things they could have more easily or quickly made. It is not about perfect, it is about a dream being real.
