I've been building Konya, one of Turkey's biggest cities, as a game with claude opus 5.5. unity + blender. Nothing is made up. buildings come from openstreetmap and satellite data, then it walks every street against google street view, makes a list of what's wrong and fixes it. if a building doesn't exist in real life it doesn't go in the game
Right now we're deep in the city center. mevlana, the old bedesten bazaar, aziziye mosque, kapu mosque. the goal is a story driven game where someone from konya walks in and goes "wait that's literally my street"

Honestly most of them, ~97% of OSM buildings around here have no height or levels tag. so it’s a fallback chain OSM height/levels -> Overture height/floors -> a default per building type (apartments 6 floors, shops 2 etc). some streets get floor ranges from a photo survey, and landmarks get hand written building cards from mapillary photos. Every building keeps a height source tag so i always know which ones are guesses. Then the street view walk catches wrong floor counts and I fix the rule or the card

neither actually I grab a bbox straight from the OSM map API, merge it with Overture footprints (OSM + Microsoft), and fill the missing bazaar blocks from satellite. street view is just the reference, I render the game camera from the exact panorama spot and an agent compares them side by side. nothing from google ends up in the game

@ustare Bedesten for sure. OSM had it as one big block, in reality it's a maze of tiny shops and alleys. Took like 5 passes to get it right 😅

Mevlânâ Meydanı’ndan başlayıp Alaaddin’den dönerek tekrar başlangıç noktasına ulaştığımız eğlenceli bir yarış😄

Oyunumuzda hala eksiklerimiz var ama geliştirme sürecinde oldukça keyifli işler ortaya çıkmaya başladı. Şehrin modellemelerinde biraz daha ilerledik, hikaye tabanlı oyun ve görevler de eklemeye başladık.

İnşaAllah önümüzdeki hafta birkaç farklı oyun içi görüntü daha paylaşacağım.

Oyunu ilk deneyenlerden olmak isteyenler e-posta adreslerini bırakabilir. İstek listesine (wishlist) ekleyip test süreci başladığında haber verebilirim.
