I'm sad to delete my #NaNoWriMo account. I kept hoping they'd get their act together after their mismanagement of last year's scandal. Instead, they release a statement today implying disabled and poor writers need to use AI to write the 50k in November.
Fuck that! I'm out!
@geekyfit @Disneyland That sucks. Do you still have the picture you took of your order on the screen? I wonder if they would take that as a receipt? If they can look it up by that?
My statement regarding the AI generated George Carlin special: My dad spent a lifetime perfecting his craft from his very human life, brain and imagination. No machine will ever replace his genius. These AI generated products are clever attempts at trying to recreate a mind…1/3
@CatieOsaurus I've found it uncomfortable since I was at least a teen if not younger. It's not something I'll ever choose to watch and I usually zone out when it's on wherever I am except for a couple scenes.
Maqloube, a traditional Palestinian dish, is known for its unique upside-down presentation and rich flavors. Here’s a simplified recipe for you to try:
Ingredients
•1 medium-sized eggplant, sliced
•2 cups of rice, rinsed and soaked
•1 large onion, finely chopped
•2 garlic cloves, minced
•1 lb of chicken, lamb, or beef, cut into pieces
•2 large tomatoes, sliced
•1 teaspoon of turmeric
•1 teaspoon of allspice
•Salt and pepper, to taste
•Cooking oil, for frying
•4 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
•Pine nuts or almonds, for garnish (optional)
•Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1.Prepare Vegetables & Meat:
•Fry the eggplant slices in oil until golden brown, then set aside on a paper towel.
•In a separate pan, sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add the meat, turmeric, allspice, salt, and pepper. Cook until the meat is browned.
2.Layer the Dish:
•In a large pot, layer the fried eggplant at the bottom. Add a layer of sliced tomatoes on top.
•Next, add the cooked meat and spread it evenly.
•Drain the soaked rice and layer it over the meat.
https://t.co/S7DpChXATv:
•Pour the broth over the rice layer, ensuring it covers the rice by about 1/2 inch. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
4.Flipping the Maqloube:
•Once the rice is fully cooked, let the pot sit for 10 minutes. Then, place a large serving platter over the pot and carefully flip the pot upside down. Tap the bottom of the pot gently to release the maqloube.
5.Serving:
•Garnish with fried pine nuts or almonds and chopped parsley.
•Serve hot with yogurt or a simple salad.
Enjoy your homemade Palestinian Maqloube!

Non-industry folks who may not know: the studios can use snippets of our work w/o compensation for promotional purposes. By putting the film up in small parts, they get $ from the ads that they don't hv to compensate us for because of a technical loophole. Part of why we strike.
It took five days of good faith negotiation by the studios to reach a deal. Every other day of the strike was unnecessary lost time caused by the studios petulantly refusing to sit down and talk like adults
