Let’s stop playing dumb , CCTV footage doesn’t just disappear.

We’re in 2025, not the floppy disk era. Once footage is captured, it’s stored on a hard drive, SSD, or NVR system , often in redundant backups. Even if someone hits "delete," the data isn't gone. It's just flagged for overwriting, and any basic forensics tool like PhotoRec, TestDisk, or Foremost can retrieve it even off corrupted drives.

Hell, a kid running Kali Linux could recover that footage in a few terminal commands if they had access.

So when authorities claim the footage is “missing” or “unavailable,” that’s not a technical failure that’s evidence tampering. Either:

Someone deliberately wiped it (which is criminal), or

It still exists and they’re stonewalling, hoping public pressure dies down.

Also most modern CCTV systems run on Linux-based NVRs. Those things mirror and timestamp every video log. You can’t just scrub a frame without leaving a metadata trail and guess what? We can trace that too.

@HonJuliusMigos It's coming to school holidays but both primary private and public schools have decided to extort Kenyan parents with Remedial classes which is tuition that should have been done during the term. I have noted even grade 4 kids go for paid remedials every Saturday
