24 years in Intl. Cooperation & Conflict Transformation, incl. Palestine&Gaza @ICRC, @UN, @NGOs, @SDC - I believe in humanity, because what is the alternative?
Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
After the right to torture Palestinians, Apartheid Israel claims the right to HANG Palestinians. The shame of the century continues.
Ben Gvir belongs in The Hague.
Between 2023 and 2025, Israel killed 1,221 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 263 minors. The vast majority were killed by military fire, with 31 shot by settler militias.
Since the beginning of the year, Israel has killed 24 Palestinians in the West Bank. Of these, 18 were shot by Israeli military forces and 6 by settler militias.
Under Israel’s apartheid regime, Palestinian lives continue to be treated as entirely expendable.
Trump’s claim that Iran will soon have a missile that can hit the United States is not backed by U.S. intelligence and appears to be exaggerated, according to three sources familiar with the reports, casting doubt on part of his case for attacking Iran.

Human rights lift the world to a better place.
When rights are upheld, people live more freely.
Economies grow more fairly.
Communities trust more deeply.
And peace & stability take hold because dignity takes root.
Human rights are not an obstacle to progress – they are essential to progress.
We need a Security Council that reflects today’s world – not the world of 1945.
When vetoes become political cover, when geopolitical rivalries override the protection of civilians, the result is the same:
Impunity grows. Suffering multiplies. And human rights are trampled.
We're living in a world where mass suffering is excused away, humans are used as bargaining chips & international law is treated as an inconvenience.
Let’s end the broad & brutal assault on human rights.
Because a world that protects human rights protects itself.
Around the world, human rights are being pushed back deliberately, strategically & sometimes proudly.
We cannot let power write a new rulebook in which the vulnerable have no rights & the powerful have no limits.
We must change course & let human dignity set the direction.
We have entered the age of clean energy.
Almost everywhere around the world, renewables are now the cheapest, fastest & safest source of new electricity.
Together, let’s cut emissions, strengthen energy security, power development & build lasting stability.
Migration is not a crisis.
The crisis is the failure to manage it together.
Migrants are not criminals. They are victims of those who prey on human vulnerability.
We need cooperation, safe pathways, and action against smugglers.

Any state not condemning ongoing illegal annexation & taking active steps to stop it, is complicit & thereby committing a crime, open to persecution by ICJ (for state) or ICC (for individual). Western states have main responsibility because their antisemitism caused the conflict.
'Israel always had a plan to annex more land in the occupied West Bank, and its actions prove it. This week, the Israeli cabinet approved a plan to claim Palestinian lands in the West Bank as “state land.”'

Marking #UN80, @antonioguterres tells the story of Paul Antonio, the man who made the ballot box of the Security Council and who left a moving message inside.
'He believed in you. I urge you: honour that trust. Make this Chamber worthy of the hopes of every man, woman & child.
The world is here - at the end of norms, cooperation, functioning international legal & multilateral institutions, because of an inability to have this conversation.

After nearly 2 yrs of genocide, it is imperative this conversation be centered not to defend Hamas but to be able to have a conversation that doesnt begin & end by mentioning them.
