🇵🇰 For nearly one year, Gulzadi Baloch has been in unlawful pretrial detention; taken from her home by counter‑terrorism officials and cut off from the life she once knew.
Her sister recalls those terrifying first hours when no one knew where Gulzadi had been taken - hours filled with fear and panic.

While Gulzadi’s arrest has stripped away her freedom, peaceful protest and expression have also been silenced across Balochistan.
Just this month, families of detained activists were barred from holding a press conference at Quetta Press Club.
Pakistani authorities must release Gulzadi and all arbitrarily detained Baloch activists immediately.

PAKISTAN: Responding to the cancellation of bail of lawyers and human rights defenders Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha and an order to immediately arrest them in a bogus case relating to “anti-state” tweets, Amnesty International said:

“This baseless trial of Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha is a blatant abuse of the justice system. Pakistani authorities must end the judicial harassment and coercive tactics used to silence dissent and intimidate those who defend human rights.
The charges have been brought against Imaan Mazari and Hadi Chattha solely for the peaceful exercise of their human rights and carrying out their professional duties. Authorities must immediately drop all charges against them and rescind the orders for their arrest.”

We knew today we were walking into a trap by entering the High Court but unlike the man who has given himself lifetime immunity, we do not run away from the courts, even though we know these are fake cases. All we have demanded is that our right to fair trial be safeguarded. Now that the prosecution case (tweets case) has burned to the ground, the little boys want to put us in jail by hook or by crook. Suddenly, a fake and concocted FIR from 6 months ago has surfaced. More will surface too. The petty small men think by putting us in jail they can shut people’s mouths. Thats not how it works.

Those who grant themselves lifetime immunity are the ones who are scared of jail. Their fear is at an all time high.
