This is a historic moment as we warmly welcome @netanyahu the Prime Minister of the State of Israel’s recognition of the Republic of Somaliland and affirm Somaliland’s readiness to join the Abraham Accords. This step marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that advances mutual interests, strengthens regional peace and security, and delivers shared benefits to all stakeholders, without prejudice to any party.
The Prime Minister thanks Foreign Minister Sa’ar, the Head of Mossad David Barnea and the Mossad, for their contribution to today's development and wishes the people of Somaliland success, prosperity, and freedom.
Grateful for @SenTedCruz continued recognition of Somaliland's contributions to regional security at today's @SenateForeign hearing. As a committed partner in maritime security and counterterrorism, we look forward to expanded cooperation with the United States in advancing our shared interests in the Horn of Africa.

Somaliland remains a sovereign, stable, and peaceful nation. Our people are united and resilient. No unfounded remarks will create division or uncertainty within Somaliland.

Somalia must stop circulating false claims about supposed ongoing talks. It was Somalia that disrupted and collapsed the 13-year dialogue process. Current statements only highlight that failure.
3/5
The dialogue process has formally ceased. No official has the authority to distort this fact or issue misleading statements to international media for personal recognition.
2/5
Somaliland has never been part of the federal system created in Somalia after 2012. Somaliland restored its sovereignty in 1991 and has since maintained its own independent state institutions.
🧵 FACT-CHECKING:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland clarifies that there are no ongoing talks with Somalia. The Government officially suspended the dialogue earlier this year after Somalia’s blatant interference in Somaliland’s internal affairs.
The #Somaliland Immigration and Border Control details the visa-on-arrival requirements. Travellers coming to Somaliland airports should know about these because #Somaliland does not accept Somalia’s e-visa.
We’ve always known that the @HIPSINSTITUTE is a propaganda machine, but Sheikh Abdirahman Bashir’s recent revelations expose just how deep its ties to Djibouti’s authoritarian regime go. The exiled Djiboutian Islamic scholar has once again highlighted the institute’s troubling financial backing, confirming that it is funded by the Djiboutian government. Bashir points out that the institute’s budget comes from taxes extracted from Djibouti's impoverished population—citizens who are deprived of essential services like healthcare, housing, and quality education.
According to Bashir, the Heritage Institute is not just a research body, but a tool for the Djiboutian government to produce pseudo-academic papers that help legitimize President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh’s authoritarian rule, which has lasted since 1998. The institute consistently avoids any mention of democracy or good governance, knowing that such topics would put them at odds with the Djiboutian dictator and undermine their funding.
Bashir also criticized the institute’s founders, including @AnalystSomalia
, @Aynte , and @afyare_elmi , accusing them of intellectual dishonesty for accepting funding from a regime notorious for its human rights abuses and using their platform to whitewash its oppressive rule.
