Pres @KagutaMuseveni won the bush war because the NRA treated well the community in which they operated and was tolerant. NRA was the most disciplined force.
These days threats are the order of the day.But we must not forget that powers belongs to the people. Unfortunately for the majority of us in @NRMOnline we have forgotten that Ugandans have a right to petition Parliament or hold a peaceful demonstration.
So even a simple basic right like taking a petition Parliament to petition the peoples' representatives will land the petitioners in prison. As if this is not worse they will be denied bail too by the kangaroo courts.

The security forces and the courts that are torturing innocent Ugandans like these medical interns must know that nothing is permanent. Don't abuse your power and authority. As they say what goes around comes around....

Uganda is here to stay. We found it and we shall leave it behind. So let us exercise restraint and empathy to the powerless. These medical interns are not criminals. They are our children. They have rights. We must respect their rights. Let us stop the intimidation. Pay all the medical interns.

Uganda’s young doctors have been humiliated 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵!

Medical interns provide essential services to Ugandans, yet in an attempt to evade the moral responsibility of paying them, they are now being conveniently labelled “students.”

@MinofHealthUG, take note of the position of Uganda’s doctors:

𝟭. 𝗨.𝗠.𝗔 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 until clear, formal communication is issued regarding their allowances and welfare.

𝟮. 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱. We reject any attempt to pay only those who were formerly government-sponsored while abandoning their formerly privately-sponsored colleagues. They hold the same qualifications, perform the same duties and serve the same Ugandan patients.

𝟯. If these concerns remain unresolved, 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 their 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝟭𝟰 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟲 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

𝟰. 𝗔𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 or 𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 for declining to report for "slavery" will trigger immediate industrial action by doctors across Uganda.

To the Ugandan public, please understand this:

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. They are qualified doctors, nurses and pharmacists undergoing supervised professional apprenticeship while providing healthcare services.

If Government chooses not to resolve this matter fairly, ethically and urgently, disruption of public health services may become unavoidable. We urge @GovUganda to act now, before patients are made to bear the consequences of a preventable crisis.

No child should be left behind. No child should ever carry the word “𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗨𝗥𝗘” as a label.

Every learner who sits an exam represents someone’s hope, a parent’s prayer, a village’s investment, and a future teacher, nurse, farmer, entrepreneur, or leader waiting to be given a chance to shine.

That is why this reform moves me so deeply. It reminds our children that they are more than a grade. It tells them that the system sees them, believes in them, and gives them another chance to find their path.

I am grateful, and I am hopeful. With steps like these, I believe Uganda can one day reach the 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱.

Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻.

Gen, I had left out this, but after consultation, let me say it.

On May 3, 2013 an Ugandan musician @irynnamubiru was arrested at Narita Airport Japan with narcotic substances. I was the Director of INTERPOL and head of NCB INTERPOL KLA. We started conversations as to what happened & how we could engage according to established procedures.

Someone at office reminded me that she carried a French passport & hence a French national and should not waste a lot of time on her.

Then your phone came through. This was after you had been appointed CDF on May 23rd. Exactly 20 days.

“Asan, I have heard that someone could have placed those drugs without her knowledge. If it’s true, ignore those French connections. She’s Ugandan and you know it very well. Please do whatever you can to assist her get out of this mess.”

This was my father requesting me to help. I consulted my IGP who gave me green light after briefing him well that she was framed. I found him at Serena Kla.

I sent very many messages to my colleagues in Tokyo. They did more investigations in that line. Later, an Ugandan was arrested in connection with the drugs after he had left Japan upon her arrest, came here and travelled back again. He was the one who had arranged for her shows in Tokyo and his people had given her a baggage of matooke to carry for him.

Long story short, Iryn was released and officially handed over to us. I want to categorically say, that it was you @GenWamala that brought Iryn home. If it wasn’t you, and my trust in your judgment & privileged information that you had at hand, I probably would have left the matter in the hands of French INTERPOL.

The Uganda Medical Association (UMA) has announced industrial action over the ongoing welfare and deployment crisis affecting medical interns and the wider medical profession.

Doctors have given government 14 days to provide clear, written and satisfactory commitments on the deployment and facilitation of medical interns.

If government fails to act, doctors across Uganda will commence industrial action.

Yesterday, NBS TV never went off or paused even for a minute, despite losing 2 important employees in a fatal car accident on the same day(R.I.P🙏).

No disrespect, but Let this serve as a clear reminder to us all that the relationship between an Employee and Employer is salary.

Also to employees that seem to be ‘deputy Jesuses’ and to managers that work so hard to make your subordinates sad…. Know that positions are made by the company for a smooth running of business, not to feed your ego. In the business perspective, You’re actually not special.

To the rest of us; do not over estimate your relationship with the company… do your job and go home.

The Pharmacy Professionals Association of Uganda (PPAU) SACCO was established in January,2026 following a unison resolution by the PPAU AGM with a shared vision of empowering pharmacy professionals especially Pharmacy technicians/dispensers and pharmacy assistants through a strong culture of saving, responsible borrowing, and collective investment.
