Day 2:UG’s Coffee Moment
It is indeed Uganda’s moment in the world market of coffee. In part because of what happened today. But largely because of what Sara Morrochi told me. She is the Founder/CEO of Vuna. I met her at the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon Coffee stall in the Producers Village at the expo. Basically Ugandan Arabicas are stealing Brazilian market share in the Mediterranean. Roasters find them more value for money as a perfect substitute. Combined with our premium robustas, she told me that this is making Uganda the hottest coffee origin in the market. We are the main discussion in the coffee corridors.
As if on cue, @GovUganda made a strong presence led by Hon. @DESIREtheFARMER at the opening of the expo where Uganda is the #PriorityCountry. The delegation that included @PS_MAAIF PS/ST @rggoobi, @Tybisa PS @UgandaMFA, Amb. @richardkabonero Amb.
Mirjam Blaak, Amb. Marcel Tibaleka Amb. Arthur Kafeero, Dr. Gerald Kyalo, Commissioner @CoffeeUganda, the list is long. They were all here for the launch of the national coffee brand. This is the other reason it was Uganda’s moment. To confirm this, our booth has been the busiest location of any national origin.
For me the highlight was to be joined by my son, Mpanju. It gave me the perfect chance to show him what the coffee business is all about. He can now relate why we do what we do with our coffee at @RugyeyoFarmLtd. He will have a better understanding what the family business of growing and selling coffee means and requires. I also made some business contacts. It was a day well spent
A former boda boda rider at MM Pub, Kabuusu, Lubaga, sold his bike (when he heard me say that coffee growing gave better returns than the motor bike) and started a three-acre farm in Bukomansimbi. His farm grew to 17 acres by the time I visited him. He lives decently by any account.
A well-looked after acre of coffee yields at least 800,000/- per month. #WorkAndProsper
With a grateful heart, I sincerely thank His Excellency President Yoweri @KagutaMuseveni for appointing me Minister of State for Internal Affairs. It is a great honour, and one I do not take lightly.
I understand just how big this responsibility is. Behind this appointment stand the hopes of millions of Ugandans, the safety of our communities, and the future of a country that continues to grow stronger under His Excellency's leadership.
I step into this role with humility, with a deep sense of duty, and with a strong desire to serve well. I promise to work hard, to act with honesty, and to give my very best every single day. My focus will be simple and clear: to help keep our people safe, to protect peace in our country, and to serve Uganda with all the energy and care I have.
Your Excellency, thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for this chance to serve. By God's grace, I will work hard to prove that this trust was well placed.
For God and my country.

A proud milestone for the Rotary Club of Environment and Climate Action Kampala, Uganda .
Congratulations on officially joining Rotary International. Wishing you impactful service, meaningful partnerships, and lasting change in our communities.
During my tour of service, I visited Bulondo Kabbabi C/U Primary School in Wakiso
A small handwritten letter from a pupil stopped me in my tracks: “You have helped us control diseases related to contaminated water.”
That is what service looks like. Real children. Real relief. Real hope.
Yet even as we celebrate this impact. Latrines built and clean water flowing the journey is not complete.
The girls here still need a safe, dignified changing room during their menstrual periods. Too many miss school for something natural. That must change.
To my fellow Rotarians and friends of @Rotary we have done much, but much more is still possible when we choose to care again and again.
Let us return here together and finish this story with dignity for every girl.

Not all symptoms experienced by people with HIV who are on ARVs are side effects of the medicine. Health & treatment literacy are key for all people, especially people with HIV who are on ART.
As a District, @rotaryd9213 we have raised over $1 million, connected with more than 20,000 people through Family Health Days, inspired 1,500 young leaders, and shared our story with 540 million people using #RotaryEyamba. This is what it means to unite for good.
Yet our journey is far from over. I urge every Rotarian, Rotaractor, and partner to press on with renewed determination. Let’s serve deeper, give greater, and extend our impact even further.
Every day left is a new opportunity. Let’s finish strong and create a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
