Jared y Angela Williams tienen una hija de seis años, Mallie.

El pasado jueves, 27 de agosto, Jared estaba cortando el césped mientras Mallie jugaba en una esquina lejana, lejos de la cortadora. Algo salió volando de debajo de la cortadora e impactó a Mallie en el lado izquierdo de su rostro. Le cortó desde la nariz hacia arriba. La llevaron a emergencias pensando que solo necesitaría puntos.

Una tomografía computarizada mostró que el ojo también estaba cortado, con pedazos faltantes. Un trozo de su hueso superciliar se desprendió y perforó su cerebro. Mallie ha pasado por múltiples cirugías. Los médicos intentaron salvar su ojo izquierdo, pero no pudieron. Ayer, pudieron quitarle el tubo de la intubación y la trasladaron a una habitación de hospital, fuera de la UCI.
