In Évian-les-Bains, France, ahead of the G7 Summit, where I will join H.E. President @WilliamsRuto and fellow leaders in advancing Kenya’s interests on the global stage.
Kenya is among only five partner nations invited to the Summit alongside India, Brazil, South Korea and Egypt, a reflection of the country's growing diplomatic capital, global influence and strategic importance in international affairs.
At the Summit, President Ruto will champion Kenya's and Africa's priorities on trade, investment, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and industrialisation, while positioning Kenya as a key voice in shaping global solutions to shared challenges.
Kenya's presence at the G7 is more than diplomatic representation; it is an opportunity to attract investment, expand economic partnerships, create jobs and advance opportunities that directly benefit Kenyan citizens while reinforcing the country's standing as a trusted global partner.
Kenya and China continue to strengthen a longstanding partnership anchored on mutual respect, trust and shared development goals.
During my meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Guo Haiyan, we explored ways of further deepening and elevating bilateral relations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework between our two nations.
Our discussions focused on cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), through which China has supported transformative infrastructure projects in Kenya including the Standard Gauge Railway, Nairobi Expressway, Thika Road, Nairobi bypasses and the Lamu Port under the LAPSSET Corridor project.
We also discussed expanding collaboration in trade and investment, healthcare, technology, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges, as both countries continue working together towards shared prosperity and sustainable growth.
@MwangiMaina_ You're progressively becoming an authority in diplomatic strategy; yarning great observations like this, only to sully it with a subjective, unrelated, alarmist and sectarian last sentence
'Are we facing a new definition of sovereignty? We are now seeing in conversations discussions that talk of possible acquisition of nations or part of nations, a completely new dynamic is taking place.'
@MwangiMaina_@Eastleighvoice Not really. Splitting hair about concepts doesn't constitute real practice. The ceremonies defining these concepts are set by host state/technical practice. Today, such definitions are murky if not blurred due to mix of govt forms; monarchy, parliamentary, presidential or hybrid
@Young_Pharmacie I smell cluelessness here. Haha..it is not about travelling to receive H.E. This is a high-level meeting between states involving signing of bilateral agreements long negotiated by the Foreign Ministry led by Mdvdi. The Foreign Minister inks agreements overseen by H.E President.
@ahmednasirlaw@SingoeiAKorir@WilliamsRuto In this transitioning global order, it is counterproductive for anyone to encourage the global south especially Africa to get stuck to traditional non-aligned or diplomatic indifference &hesitation. Most are becoming assertive &proactive in pursuit of their national interests.
@ahmednasirlaw@KariukiDiaspora@SingoeiAKorir@WilliamsRuto Ndugu SC, this story isn't about the good PS. It's part of a well coordinated strategy to hit productive civil servants deemed to be close to the President. Had Dr Sing'oei been a typical Kenyan, he wouldn't have retained the horde of court jesters from the previous regime.
@StandardKenya I have read the main Standard article, it is hollow, usual 'unprecedented low'; full of fury signifying nothing. Nothing exclusive, only targeted hitting of top performers/govt pillars. Aim: undermine the State/presidency, advance sectarian party politics & ethnic hatred.
🧭 On April 17, an online open meeting with Alexander Dugin, one of Russia's most influential contemporary thinkers, will take place.

Before my meetings yesterday, I had the chance to tour Nairobi National Park on the city’s outskirts. It’s amazing to see the wild animals with the city skyline in the background. Especially enjoyed the elephant orphanage, which takes care of animals that lose their mothers before they’re old enough to survive in the wild and prepares them for reintegration.
