When I started my job, everyone told me we needed to look at wide row cotton in Georgia. Today we harvested that study and here is a picture from one rep. From left to right: 36” rows, 48” rows, 60” rows, and 72” rows (wouldn’t fit in one bag).
Obviously the 72” rows yielded the most when looking at yield by row foot, but what about on an acre basis? Does wide row production “pencil out” for Georgia growers? Looking forward to doing more digging and sharing data with growers at county meetings this winter.
To all of my good friends in Texas and Oklahoma, I feel your pain. In 35 years of farming I have never seen hail like this. We are grateful to God that it wasn’t more widespread than what it was. #hailstorm#Cotton#humbling@spann
Always good to hear from Dr Glenn Harris concerning nutrient stewardship. Thanks to @UGA_AgEngineer and @WesleyMPorter for the opportunity to sponsor the @UGAExtension training today.
