Well that was hard! Glad I did and glad I've arrived in one piece.Every day brought a different story and different people to talk to. The Galician countryside was lovely and so peaceful. Time for a beer or two, I reckon.
Day 5 on the Camino started wet and rain continued all day. Arrived soaked through , despite rain gear, at O Pedrouzo, my final stop before 20 km hike into Santiago tomorrow morning. Legs are sore, feet too, but I've enjoyed my time on the Camino.
Well, that's day 4 over, nice hike, plenty of hills to challenge the legs and plenty of people for chats along the way. Staying in lovely farmhouse outside Arzúa tonight, great food and their own wine too. 38 Kms left over two days.
Set out early this morning for shorter hike from Palas de Rei to Melide, 14 kms. Really nice countryside and lots of the trail passing through wooded areas, so plenty of shade. Arrival in Melide is via the village of Furelos where you cross a roman bridge, ponte de San Xoán.
Day 2 on Camino Frances, 25kms from Portomarin to Palas de Rei , lots of interesting people along the walk from all over the world , all united in the pain of climbing those hills. This part of Spain would remind you of Ireland if it weren't so sunny!!
On my travels again, day 1 on Camino from Sarria to Portomarin, set out at 7.30am, arrived at 2pm, approx. 22kms, lovely hike but legs feel it tonight, 95 kms left until I reach Santiago De Compostela next Monday.
@forsa_union_ie Great outcome and really well done to the caretakers and secretaries who persevered all week, this is a real victory for them and everyone involved, including the team led by @apike1 , well done all
@apike1@Forsaschoolsecs@forsa_union_ie Delighted to lend support to the strike this morning, great to see the Principal, Chair of Board of Management and Teacher Union reps out supporting our great @Forsaschoolsecs at Swords Educate Together, my daughters school.

The sun has come out for the Civil Service Divisional conference in Galway!
Welcome to delegates traveling from all around Ireland, exciting few days ahead. #ForsaCivil
Shocked and saddened to hear of Garda Kevin Flatley's death whilst on duty in North County Dublin today. Deepest condolences to his family and colleagues at this very difficult time.
Did you know that school secretaries and caretakers aren't entitled to access pensions? They are the heart of our schools and I value their work. So, I signed the pledge to support their campaign for pensions. Will you sign too? https://t.co/9fxeaKa8UV
Well said Jake, O'Leary places no value on public service and the important role teachers play. Keep up the great work , we appreciate everything you do.
Seville is a beautiful city, just spent a couple of days here , easy to get around walking or by public transport, Dublin could learn some lessons from this city, off to Malaga on the train later to meet the family off the Dublin flight !!
