This is nothing more than a money-transfusion from the taxpayers to terminally-ill news outlets! If people want these news outlets, they will pay for them; if these news outlets are not able to support themselves from their own activities, they don’t deserve to survive.

We have had experience in previous years of taxpayer-extracted handouts for enterprises that were considered 'too big to fail'. Now it seems we are to have handouts for enterprises that are 'too small to fail'!

Day 11. No electricity. No phone reception. No Internet. And not a single ESB worker to be seen in the area in literally the entire 11 days. Everybody is saying the same thing. Where are all the workmen, Irish or crews brought in from other countries, because we haven't seen a single person. Not 1.

At least the Dail got an extra 2 weeks of holidays.

I'm hearing about so many people in their late 80s and 90s hanging on by a thread. The newspapers and radio stations have basically stopped talking about it. We're old news.
