This is Mexico as it stands ahead of the #FIFA #WorldCup: thousands of missing persons, mothers searching for their children with nothing but a shovel, hundreds of thousands of people displaced, businesses forced to close because organized crime extorts them for the right to operate, and severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies. Children with cancer have gone without chemotherapy treatments since 2018, when López Obrador took office. All of this has occurred with the complicity, tolerance, or negligence of narco government.

This is the real #Mexico—the Mexico that should not be hosting a World Cup while so many of its citizens continue to suffer. It is not fair that while some are watching a #football match, searching mothers are still looking for their children with a shovel, and #children with #cancer are still waiting for the treatments they need.

This is Mexico.
