Do you ever wish you could just use python to generate the files and code for running FSL's randomise? Me too! I made this: https://t.co/z2EqRSSQI4 It can even replace the numbers in the file outputs with contrast names of your choosing (and replace corrp with 1minusp).
Interested in practical tips for assessing collinearity and why common fixes might not help? Come to the OHBM oral session Friday at 11:30AM (P2)! I’ll share simulation results and @DemidenkoMI will present real data results. Also, check out my poster Thursday (1051)!
At next year's OHBM, the Open Science Room is at risk of being dramatically reduced/cut. If you like the OSR please consider signing/sharing this petition! https://t.co/TzZCZM9od0
Setting up an fMRI model and getting hit with collinearity errors? Been there! 😢 Try removing regressors? Orthogonal regressors? Other tricks? Guess what—those fixes might make things worse. We explore why and propose recommendations.

If you get an email from "me" saying you've won a laptop from "Gabby Caira's" study, this is a scam. Also, don't participate in Gabby Caira's study online. I'm unsure how they are recruiting "subjects" (I think partially through FB).
Does your fMRI task involve response times? If so, you should check out our new paper in order to avoid condition difference effect estimates from being driven by RT differences. https://t.co/HeS83dFPOC
⚠ DEADLINE EXTENSION ⚠The deadline to submit content for OHBM 2024 has been extended to December 1, 2023. Read the new issue of OHBMonthly or visit the OHBM website for more details. https://t.co/ynEka4e1tz
People stop me at Starbucks & often ask, "Michael, do you know anything about the measurement structure of the MID task fMRI data?" For Halloween, 🍭🍬🍭!
In a RegReport, w/ @mumbrainstats@russpoldrack & Ram, we evaluated the structure across 3 samples. https://t.co/pASGIvI0JM
@Raamana_@OHBM@laurenatlas I'd be really surprised if people skipped OHBM because club night went away. Still other parties, the Welcome Reception and the coffee/wine during the poster sessions (I'd guess both are far more price than club night). Just a curious how removing it would impact cost.
@TheBloggess The audiobook for Nothing to See Here (Kevin Wilson) was pretty great. Such a fun/silly story and the narrator has a great Southern accent and I think she adds a lot to the story with her delivery.
What if you don’t model response times in fMRI models? Biased condition difference estimates and potential surprising fake group associations. Our paper has the details and fixes https://t.co/GvA2RbEN4s
TY! @russpoldrack@patrickgbissett@IndianaJonesSr @sunjae_shim @JaimeGotobed
@russpoldrack @MartinMwiener @patrickgbissett@IndianaJonesSr @sunjae_shim @JaimeGotobed Side note, there's a section in the discussion about why using the duration, directly, instead of a modulation in the ConsDurRT model can be less flexible and potentially problematic.
@MartinMwiener @russpoldrack@patrickgbissett@IndianaJonesSr @sunjae_shim @JaimeGotobed Depends upon whether the signal duration really matches the stimulus duration or not. I'm unsure how one can strongly conclude this for all voxels in the brain. The model we propose does both with the idea that the RT-based signal requires special expertise to properly interpret.
