@lauraannebeth @FundraiserSarah Exactly. It seems as if they're not being intentional about the question, and have just (as @FundraiserSarah said) plucked it from the census.
@CharityHourUK Q1: I find that charities are a little quieter in the summer, but it's a great time to get started on long term strategy work. The kind that we usually never have time for!

@CharityHourUK@ian_mcl A4: It can be a good opportunity, but for now the unknowns aren't worth the risk of incorporating it wholesale. From ethical concerns, copyright of content, data bias which will affect marginalised communities to misrepresentation. I say tread with caution!
@DFish111@CharityHourUK@ian_mcl@raisely Absolutely! We're a very open organisation so feedback is shared widely internally. AI was the focus on our recent virtual retreat so we had lots of teams diving into it's benefits, uses and of course - ethical concerns.
@CharityHourUK@ian_mcl A3: Idea generation - but not much more! At @raisely we prefer being hands on with charities looking for support with their fundraising. So while it can help craft emails, it doesn't feel authentic or true to our values. I don't see a huge benefit to it just yet.
@ian_mcl Now imagine that on a huge scale for charities. Writing job descriptions, deciding candidate shortlists, writing beneficiaries' stories and more. That bias will compound issues we already have with diversity and inclusion in the sector.
