I am shocked and ashamed that our country has abstained from voting for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Our country was founded on the principles of non-violence and truth, principles for which our freedom fighters laid down their lives, these principles form the basis of the constitution that defines our nationhood. They represent the moral courage of India that guided its actions as a member of the international community.

To refuse to take a stand and watch in silence as every law of humanity is pulverised, food, water, medical supplies, communication and power is cut off to millions of people and thousands of men, women and children in Palestine are being annihilated goes against everything our country has stood for throughout its life as a nation.

Launched on 25th November, 2022, JEEViKA Sajha Shakti Kendras (Gender Resource Centres) in 16 locations offer crucial support to women facing gender based violence in Bihar. They offer emergency assistance, connect to support services like the helpline, free legal aid, social entitlements - all while maintaining confidentiality.

C3, in partnership with JEEViKA, is closely working with coordinators in Sajha Shakti Kendras (SSKs) to ensure quality services. Our trainings equip them to understand the nuances of gender-based violence and respond effectively to complaints, ensuring women can access formal support when needed. Exposure visits to support services and efficient convergence with Mahila Helpline, Police, District Legal Services Authorities, serves to strengthen the effectiveness of the SSKs.

Hear the stories of our powerful Sajha Shakti Kendra coordinators as they support women and challenge deep rooted gender norms and work towards rights based solutions. C3 is privileged to partner with @brlps_jeevika in their gender integration journey.
