3 Ships currently docked at Lamu Port. These are the MV Saigon, the MV Stephanie C and the MV Lobivia which sailed from the Port of Mombasa. The MV Lobivia is laden with 592 containers for transshipment to Zanzibar via MV Gulf Express.

The Port of Lamu is witnessing an increase in vessel calls pointing to a steady growth in shipping business.
MV Devon is the latest container vessel to dock at Lamu on a maiden voyage from Dar-es-salaam laden with 809 containers.
The vessel operated by Sealead Shipping Express will be offering a dedicated transshipment service between the Port of Lamu and Dar-es-Salaam. On this voyage, she will be loading 539 containers.
General Manager Port of Lamu, Eng. Vincent Sidai, highlighted the Authority’s initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of the port including a promotional tariff and extended storage periods for transshipment. Eng. Sidai also shared that, just this year, the Port of Lamu has welcomed four inaugural calls.
At a brief ceremony held aboard the vessel Eng. Sidai presented Captain Simchenko Myroslav with a commemorative plaque and a certificate of first call to honour the ships first visit to the port.
Accompanying the GM were KPA Board of Directors Mr. Daniel Muriungi Mugao and Wilson Mwai.
