Performance engineering is ultimately a battle against physics. This is a sharp distillation of the constraints that still matter in modern systems.

Performance Hints

Over the years, my colleague Sanjay Ghemawat and I have done a fair bit of diving into performance tuning of various pieces of code. We wrote an internal Performance Hints document a couple of years ago as a way of identifying some general principles and we've recently published a version of it externally.

We'd love any feedback you might have!

My view on microservice architecture certification?. If you come to one of my microservice workshops and want a certificate, I will happily provide a one that certifies that "You were there when certificates were handed out".

I can't believe anyone can have any worst experience at Centurion SFO. They won't allow in because I was 9 mins early, rudest bartender, and overall the worst service. All the other Centurion are sooooo awesome! Com'on @AmericanExpress

@Uber_Support hahaha. After trying to speak in Portuguese for 45 mins y’all were so nice to cancel my food order. Thanks! Last time I checked you were still a company with great support. #massiveFail #fail

@Uber_Support what’s going on? No response at all!! Great job Uber eats!!

[munjal @munjal]

@Uber_Support one more time. An order just a block away and it’s taking more than 50 mins. After calling the restaurant they say that its already picked up. #fail

[munjal @munjal]

@Uber_Support great job uber-eats! The restaurant is literally two blocks away and instead of 5 mins it's taking 45 mins!!

@AmericanAir Before booking the flights I ensured that system wide upgrades were available and in the past I was able to use about-to expire systemwide upgrades. I am not asking to extend my sys wide upgrade dates. I am just asking to use the upgrades that are about to expire.

From awesome to awful - why the new release is so painful? Even login doesn't work! What happen to you @freshbooks ?

[munjal @munjal]

@buddybuild It's real fun when you receive the same kind of service (wait forever!) when you are on a free-tier or paid one! #fail #unhappy
