Going Forward: one of the tasks of the steering committee will be to formulate recommendations for medium and long-term actions for the integration of energy markets of the five countries, in line with the EU acquis communautaire and Green Deal. WB continues to extend its support

FR, DE, PT, & ES to explore opportunities for cooperation mechanisms in accordance with the Renewable Energy Directive 2018/2001 and help Morocco reach the EU energy acquis communautaire.

5 countries signed today in Sharm El Sheikh an Agreement stating the actions to be taken by each party to implement actions for electricity market integration, focusing in the short-term on cross-border renewable energy corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPA).

Great to see France(FR), Germany(DE), Portugal(PT), Spain(ES), and Morocco(MA) reach an MOU following a commitment known as the Sustainable Electricity Trade (SET) Roadmap supported by a WB initiative thru a non-lending grant provided in 2016.
