yeah, no.
the average consumer has a near zero need for offloading cognitive work. what they need is their netflix and their doordash — your job as a consumer is literally to chill tf out and stay happy and motivated
if you dont intuit this as obvious you're most likely neck-deep in a muck of motivated reasoning as a consumer founder / VC
okay you can use agents to search the web and synthesize findings on what to buy. okay you have cognitive chores like filing tax returns and sifting thru email. sounds like great features to bake into google and gmail!
on the other hand, your job as a knowledge worker is to convert your cognition into something of economic value — and then because of competitive market dynamics, you'll also need all the cognitive amplification that's available on the market.
the biggest problems need the most cognition. the consumer takes care of problems scoped to themselves. the knowledge workers together take care problems concerning society.
when we look back, we'll remember how AI agents helped us cure cancer, not how your agent helped you order pizza over imessage.
@thdxr normies don't have stuff to automate.
are they gonna have their agents automate scrolling news feed and FYP? or pick their kid up from school? there isn't stuff for agents to do.
@0xblacklight the reason normies aren't using agents is because normies don't do that much stuff in the first place. so what are their agents supposed to do. you're trying to automate work that doesn't exist.
@joshm most people don't have that much stuff to do that they require AI agents for. They just scroll on TikTok or watch YouTube. People just want to relax.
If women want a man to take care of them for the rest of their lives then they need to give him the best years of their lives.
They can’t spend their 20s dating Chads and bad boys and then in their 30s after their ran through expect some hard working average man to marry them and protect and provide for the rest of her life.
That is just not realistic and isn’t fair to the man and it’s honestly rediculous that women expect men to do this now as if it’s normal when it’s not.
Dating apps introduced distribution at scale to the sexual marketplace.
Men value access to sex while women value the possibility of a long-term relationship.
Because sex can be fleeting and without recourse men are willing to sleep with women that are below them in “value” in the sexual marketplace.
Because women are focused on relationships and procreation they are generally more likely to attempt to maximize the “value” of their chosen mate in the sexual marketplace.
As a result of scaled digital distribution and the receding taboo around hookup culture women suddenly found that they had instant access to men that wouldn’t typically hit on them in real life let alone pursue a relationship with.
They could open an app and find a man that they previously thought was out of their league who is drunk or horny at any time of the day or night.
Initially this simply resulted in women calling guys assholes at a growing clip in parralel with the instances of less attractive women who were hooked up with and then instantly dumped by guys hotter than them.
But then something strange happened.
First we started seeing women come to terms with the fact that they were hooking up with guys out of their league. But instead of lowering their standards they just started re framing them as “situationships” and “rosters” because it was less painful vs accepting that they were dating out of their league.
Then the vast majority of guys who were by default increasingly ignored by the majority of women who were all pursuing the small cohort of “higher value” guys … will these “lower value” guys just started opting out of the sexual marketplace entirely. They started “locking in” or “getting red-pilled”.
Meanwhile because men will tell women whatever they want to hear to get laid and women lie to each other out of tribalism and intra-gender competition there was no one to tell the girls that they were increasingly delusional in their dating expectations or that things like age-based looks were far more important to most men vs a women’s career progression.
This led to rampant dating expectations on the female side further alienating the median male even as “high value” men seemed to be exempt from any expectations.
In other words if you’re hot you can call her at 3am and then ignore her the next day and she’s fine with it but if you’re a normal guy you better be sending her an uber to a nice restaurant with flowers.
But because of social media the average men became increasingly aware of this phenomena. And now they’re enraged.
Either they become obsessed with getting hot (clavicular) or they start to just hate women in an unhealthy adversarial way.
At the same time because of the increased hookup component with guys out of their traditional “league” on the female side a whole industry of female influencers have popped up to make women feel better about their newly found sexual liberation.
Now to be clear there is definitely a component of traditional and religious framing of sex that women have been moving past for decades.
But this is something else.
This has become mostly women who would prefer to be monogamous with one guy but being forced into a more fluid situation of dating multiple guys at once simply because that lets them retain access to those guys who are out of their league.
And so influencers like Alex Cooper have built an entire genre of female empowerment around reducing the shame associated with sleeping with hot guys who won’t commit to you.
Now where it gets dark is not only are the non-hot men resentful.
The first cohort of women from the dating app era are just hitting the proverbial wall. And they are realizing that the previously mentioned hot guys by virtue of digital distribution have access to newly minted early 20s girls and find that more attractive vs women in their 30s.

@iamAxolotl@6ixbuzztv it's only illegal if sexual or something like taking pics up a skirt. if you're just sitting across from someone on a train and take of pic of them then its legal
@Nyadnar17@SeanTrende Yes, and it is brainrot that has reached impressionable young women and is actively impeding them from meeting good men and settling down.
The problem is the lack of alignment by men & women on the core purpose of the early dates.
Broadly speaking, there's two frameworks on what the purpose is:
1) To ascertain general chemistry/attraction/vibe, to see if it's worth spending more time with each other and have sex.
Most men adopt this view. The early dates are a vibe check. When the woman also has this view, there's general congruence.
The problem arises when women say they want to date "intentionally," to find a genuine long-term partner but at the same time demand fancy dates and investment. Finding out whether there's potential for a long-term relationship - attraction, values, lifestyle, etc. - does not require fancy dates. The venue or activity is not the point: it's about finding out more about the other person.
Hence, when women insist on this, they are implicitly accepting the second view of the purpose of the early dates: 2) the dates are a form of implied transaction & a way to gauge the guy's money/status.
When this happens, the guy is right to ask: so in return for the investment & meeting your demands, what do I get out of this? After all, a transaction can only be successful when both parties get what they want.
Women will retort by saying "well he shouldn't expect anything in return but he should do it to appreciate my presence and to demonstrate what type of partner he will be." The problem is that an investment only makes sense if it generates an ROI for the one making the investment. It would be insanely irresponsible for a guy (even a wealthy one) to spend thousands of dollars on the first few dates simply because the woman demanded it, without knowing what the tangible benefit to him is.
I don't have a clean solution to this. I certainly do not think men should outright demand sex for dates. I also think women's demands on men they barely know is asinine and only hurting them.
Women are starting to realise a hard truth. Many men are no longer willing to spend on dates with no clear outcome. If she turns down a coffee date, a park date, or a Netflix night, plenty of men would rather stay home than play the expensive dating game.
The world is more connected than ever. More men are choosing to build wealth instead of chasing validation.
When they've established themselves in 30s or 40s, the leverage shifts.
They would then have more options, not just locally, but globally.
I personally know several men who now date in Latin America, where they're treated with far more appreciation and respect.
The dating market is changing, whether people like it or not.
FLASHBACK: Dr. Fauci said he would HAPPILY testify and “cooperate fully” with any Congressional committee in 2022.
“I have nothing to hide!”
He did not in fact cooperate fully today.
It’s because he DOES have something to hide…
