Community campaign for a special development at Murphy’s Yard, London NW5, that prioritises quality of life and respects context, in contrast to current plans.
Murphys application is live. Camden's design review panel say: "The bulk, height and massing of residential blocks is excessive and…have a significant and unacceptable impact on important views from Parliament Hill. The amount of accommodation should be reduced or redistributed"
Today @CooperationTown members and staff stood in solidarity with @unitetheunion members sacked by Murphys and with neighbours involved in the @MurphyNw5 fight against gentrification.
Join us at our AGM this Thursday evening. Hear about:
- what we’re up to
- plans for development at Highgate Studios
- the Phoenix in Sussex - a different approach to development
The proposed new block of student flats at the old Archway hospital is erm…quite something.
@diarmaid_w@KayaJunction we really want the site to be redeveloped - and the other blocks seem grand, height wise…but the southern one is like…ridiculous. Which they must know?

Loads of great ideas for making it a development that local people can get behind.
Weston Homes clearly neither understand nor wish to understand how towns work. I hope that they sell on their stake in Norwich to someone who does

Today we hosted @CamdenMakers and the local Neighbourhood Forum at our space in Gospel Oak for a community-led workshop to respond to - and improve on! - a local development plan. Neighbours discussed proposals and drafted demands, building community power from below! 1/
Great turnout and energy, especially for a hot Saturday, for our design charrette with @CamdenMakers to come up with positive ideas for the redevelopment of Murphy’s Yard. People passionate about striving for an exemplar scheme. #neighbourhoodplanning
Excellent energy and ideas at tonight's online community charrette. Positive thinking about how to get the best development at Murphy's Yard. There's an in-person event on Saturday. https://t.co/ZzMJAUP3IO
Our proposals for #AngliaSquare (by architects
