OWU: TALENT PROJECTION
CONCEPTUALLY THINKING BASKETBALL

DELANEY JOENS
@MurrayElite

2030 | XAVIER | CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA
6’1” | SF / FORWARD | MURRAY ELITE

PRIMARY ARCHETYPE
DEVELOPMENTAL BIG WING / MULTIPOSITION FORWARD

FILM STUDY THESIS

The evaluation begins with the intersection of:

SIZE × SPEED × ATHLETICISM × SKILL.

At a listed 6’1”, Joens already possesses dimensions that create multiple developmental pathways.

But the more interesting signal is what exists underneath the size.

Joens is a MULTI-SPORT ATHLETE whose volleyball profile provides another evidence layer for her functional athleticism. As an outside hitter, she has already demonstrated the movement, explosiveness, coordination and competitive functionality to impact at the freshman level.

That matters to the basketball projection.

Joens projects to immediately enter Iowa 4A basketball as one of the more intriguing SIZE + SPEED athletes in her class.

The question is not whether she is currently a wing or forward.

The question is:

WHAT CAN THIS ATHLETIC PROFILE BECOME?

Current basketball signals show interior functionality, rebounding, catch-drive ability, either-hand finishing and an expanding perimeter game.

The developmental hypothesis:

SIZE

SPEED
MULTI-SPORT ATHLETICISM
PERIMETER SKILL
PROCESSING
= MULTIPOSITION VALUE

Now comes the evidence-building phase.

VARSITY PRODUCTION IS ON THE WAY.

The varsity environment will begin stress-testing whether those physical advantages convert into repeatable possession value against older, stronger competition.

OWU: Film Study

Joens should be evaluated through TRAJECTORY rather than a fixed positional label.

The size creates OPTIONALITY.

The athleticism creates ADVANTAGE POTENTIAL.

The skill package determines FUNCTION.

The processing determines ROLE.

Varsity production begins establishing PROOF.

The upside case is a 6’1” size-speed athlete whose perimeter development allows her to function as a true MULTIPOSITION BIG WING.
